Great decor, wonderful owners who were extremely helpful and also of great cheer. Great location and wonderfully maintained, especially considering that it was new in the 1400's. The room was clean, neat and actually had sheets and a blanket rather than the usual smothering comforter that pins one to the mattress that is ever present in Europe.

Seriously wonderful. Clean, inviting, and helpful staff. While it doesn't have all the frills and amenities of a resort, this is easy to recommend in a town like chinon. Charming and simply delightful.

A small but very nice and clean room. The shower was perfect as well as the firm bed, and the French country design of the room was charming.

A charming old house with a lovely garden patio right outside my door. It’s a short work to the Vienne river. The room is nice. Bath only, no shower.

Comfortable and clean room. Good service and breakfast. Walking distance from center and castle.

I especially liked the staff... and the hydronic heating was easy to adjust. Would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Beautiful hotel in old French style. No elevator. Great breakfast in front of a big fire with choices of fruit lots of different breads and home made jams. Good coffee. Helpful unobtrusive staff Lots of stairs!!

Superb hotel in the middle of town yet an heaven of peace and quiet with bird singing and plenty greenery . Fabulous

We have stayed at the Diderot a number of times over the years. Mainly as a stop over enroute. It is very well located in the middle of Chinon and there is limited parking next to the hotel. The breakfast is just right with fresh bread and their home made jams. It was all as good as ever and a very pleasant stay.
