for a 2 star hotel i was not expecting much. the hotel is old and bit smelly and rooms small but i thought the price was good and close to town center. however, i got itchy all over after the first night and i noticed 30+ red bumps of various sizes on my body. i started to suspect bedbugs and started looking around the room. i was able to find 2 dead ones and 2 live ones. since this is 10pm at night and there is no staff at the hotel (they are only working for certain hours during the day, there is no 24 hours front desk), i had to stay for one extra night. i wrapped the bed sheet tightly around me so the bedbugs can't get to me. next morning i had more bug bites but not as bad as the nice before. i showed the photos i took of the bugs and my bug bites to the staff and they refunded me for 3 of the 4 nights (i booked 4 nights and stayed 2 because of the bedbugs).
i washed all my clothes just to be cautious and had to book on the fly a more expensive hotel nearby for the remaining two nights. Expedia gave me $200 credit but the hotel cause $200 a night (most of cheaper hotels are already booked up). i also found out there is a Ibis budget hotel nearby for 50 euro a night (it was full) that is rated 3 stars. so even without the bedbugs, it is still not a very good deal.
overall a terrible experiences. this is the first time i had bedbugs and i have been to 60+ countries including some of the poorest countries on this planet and some of the cheapest hostel
