If you like waking up with your hair soaked in sweat, this is the place for you. The room was large and one entire side was windows with very thin shades which caused a terrible greenhouse effect. The windows would not open because they added a second set of windows over the historic windows. The new windows opened in and the shades are mounted to the ceiling blocking the windows from opening. It was about twenty degrees hotter in the room than it was outside. There is no air conditioning. Imagine getting into a hot car in the summer but you can’t roll down the windows. Now imagine trying to sleep. It was awful. At first they said the windows are locked because they didn’t want people smoking. The second day they said they would open the windows but then they said we couldn’t open them. They gave us one sad fan that barely produced any air. We finally blocked the doors open the to try to let some heat out into the hallways but it didn’t help much. The hallways were cool and i actually considered moving my mattress out there to sleep. Thank goodness we only stayed two days. We stayed in July. The rooms are in a really beautiful historic building in a fun part of the city with lots of pubs and live music. None of that matters when you are trying to sleep in temperatures over 80 degrees.
