I booked on hotels.com a one night stay which included breakfast and paid in full at the time of booking. On arrival at the "hotel" I was informed that breakfast was extra and that my credit card had not gone through. Having just travelled 300 miles to get there, I assumed there had been a problem and stupidly, when asked to pay again, I did so. Later that evening i did manage to dig out the details of my booking receipt and left these and contact details so the owner could advise when she had confirmed matters with hotels.com. This was over a week ago, and no contact so far from the owner, nor Hotels.com whom I asked to help sort this out. So ignore the mention of breakfast, ignore the TV in the classic single room pic, it does not work, and ignore the 0121 .......5 number provided. It does not work. Aside from that, the room itself was clean and quirky in a nice way.

This is a larger-sized house hotel, I arrived late but the host was staying up and then was invited into the house, was made a coffee and shown to the room. Many steps have been taken to make the place operate as a hotel, I stayed a few nights and felt I would be welcomed back.

An excellent place to stay, within the reach of Central Birmingham via the frequent bus service. Met all my needs as a "older" person looking to attend a couple of concerts at the Symphony Hall. Quiet location with parking on site, helpful staff, simple breakfast available, all dietary needs asked about and catered for. I will certainly look to see if a room is available next time I am aiming to visit Birmingham for a "cultural" event.
