The hotel is in a good location to walk into Sarlat and is very quiet. THere are several good restaurants within walking distance. Lovely pool area and serve a good simple breakfast. Very nice helpful staff

Fantastic location to experience the medieval town and area chateaus. Family owned and run. Excellent staff. Breakfast was convenient and parking is offered for a fee. Essential asset for a driving tour through France. The rooms have everything you will need.

Parking on street outside the hotel. Short walk into town centre. Balcony over looking the street - and car!

Check in was a breeze. Street parking was good but didn't feel safe to leave anything in the car. Rooms were European standard very small mini bar so can't store left overs. Very tight and narrow hallways and tiny elevator.

The people at the reception were very charming and could not do enough to help us. I thank them for their help and pointers to visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel and in Sarlat. The staff were very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. We would highly recommend this property. It is just outside the historic centre of Sarlat. A great location.

The hotel is advertised as sound proof, but its not. Doors were banging , people talking in the next room, and water running were some of the noises heard. We did not like the toilet directly into the bedroom. The hotel is situated just a short walk from the town centre and the beautful building in the town. Parking was on the street outside of the hotel.

This is definitely a budget hotel but the lobby is really nice and the service was wonderful. The location is really the biggest selling point- it is about 5 minutes into the medieval city (that's the place you want to be :) The walk at night is just magical through the city and the walk back to the hotel is really easy. Parking was really easy on the street. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom needed to be updated but was ok. The toilet was a little creaky and the water temp was unpredictable but the room was decent size for Europe and it worked well for 1 night.

It was ok, there were so many quaint, historical hotels or BB in the area that may have been more interesting .

We loved Sarlat le Caneda. We loved our stay at Hotel de Compostelle -- when we called because we had taken a wrong turn and notified them we would be many hours late, the owners stayed and welcomed us. Owners were friendly and charming; the hotel's lobby and dining area (breakfasts) were comfortable and welcoming. The hotel is two blocks from the main part of this charming town. Terrific breakfasts. The room -- nothing fancy but very comfortable and quiet (a separate WC from the bath). Sarlat is not on the main tourist path (thank goodness) and it is a beautiful town. You do need a car to get around the area and for your trouble, you will be treated to amazing scenery and inspiring visits to the nearby Cro Magnon caves and sites.

We stayed 5 days in this typical small French hotel. The hotel is modernised, with tasteful decoration and furniture throughout. The room was excellent, with air conditioning, free wi fi and a fridge. Breakfast was continental and served in the small room downstairs. Otherwise the hotel has no facilities. There is parking in the street, but also a private off road car park 50 yards up the street through an archway into what is really a garden. The staff were most helpful such as the cleaner who offered to show us to the car park when we did not follow the directions and the manager who carried the heaviest bag up the stairs. There is a lift, but it does not reach the bedroom floors. It takes about 8 minutes to walk into the centre, so there is some noise outside the hotel. We had a balcony on which to sit and watch the world go by. The launderette is close by for those travelling around. Sarlat is a beautiful town with many cafes close by including one 100 yards from the hotel which offered superb food. At night, entrance is made by punching in a code as there are no staff on duty.

the receptionist was very welcoming and accomodation when we realised we had booked for the wrong date!! There were no dramas. The rooms overlooking the courtyard were very comfortable and avoided the street noise. Breakfast offered good choices and the location to town centre involved a short pleasant walk. Would definitely use again.
