The location was great for our purposes and the parking was good. Breakfasts were excellent, there was a nice patio and garden out the back. Well-run family B&B. The principal negatives were the noise (our suite overlooked the main road) and the very spasmodic Wi-Fi. At this price point it was disappointing.

Clean, presentable and tasteful but room overall was small and the bathroom was particularly small where the shower (in the bath) would be virtually impossible to access for a less agile person due to layout and bath side height and screen. Verges on unsafe. Would have normally rated it overall as 'good' but a the price £150/night I rate it as 'average' in terms of value for money.

A beautiful quirky b and b, incredibly old building which has kept its character, and is very modern at the same time . Home made gluten free cookies wrapped in the room waiting for me, and effortless delicious gluten free breakfast! Great staff and relaxed atmosphere and amazing bed and bedding!

We stayed at the salty monk for two nights and honestly I couldn’t fault it. And the breakfast was above expectation. Delicious.

A lovely stay in a very friendly and comfortable b&b. Great location with a beautiful riverside walk down to the town/sea. Perfect for the dog, with a welcome doggy basket, towel, treats and bowls! We had a wonderful dinner and the freshly cooked breakfast was outstanding.

Very pleasant stay (with our dog). Made to feel very welcome and the choice at breakfast was excellent. Not mad about the integral bathroom and w/c (frosted glass screen in corner of room) but it was done all very modern and clean.

Hotel was very comfortable. A very pleasant half hour walk into Sidmouth along the river side. Very close to bus stops. A good centre for exploring the area. Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice and well cooked and presented. Staff extremely friendly and helpful,

My wife and I really enjoyed our 5 day stay at this relaxing and high quality hotel. The welcome, food (imaginative menus especially fish dishes) and well attended gardens are outstanding. The hotel is ideally placed for exploring locally and for walking into Sidmouth town. We will be back. ENJOY!

Stayed in suite which was very comfortable, but hot at night. Although food was good, menu not like sample menu and a little disappointing. Hotel quite expensive.
