There was a kettle with green , berry & fruit tea but no actual tea or coffee .Not as advertised. The shower head was broken with water pouring out of the side. The shower head drooped over not above as it should . It was a hassle to try to screw it back on.Trying to shower while holding it. The temperature control was difficult to set. It was scalding hot then the hot water ran out after a few minutes. I had to rinse off and wash my hair in the small wash basin that did have hot water. The heating was not on in the morning .I had a cold shower then came out to a cold bedroom Not a pleasant start to my day . For £82 I would expect heating and a shower that worked. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

Great sized room, freindly courteous staff

The kings arms was fine. It’s a busy pub in an old building. The live music is clearly audible in the rooms above, but having said that the bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The carpet is a little grubby, but all in all I can recommend.

Comfortable mattress. I have a scoliosis and an old and / or low quality mattress causes me back ache. Kings Arms mattress does not leave me with back ace, unlike many other hotel mattresses!

The location was good. The young lady who showed me to the room was lovely. However, the rest was not so good. The curtains did not close properly. The room was extremely cold, which made sleep difficult, and it took a long time to work out why. The cause turned out to be an open window in the bathroom which I hadn't noticed as blinds were all down when I arrived. On closing the window the smell was terrible. As it was a room over a pub there was no one to complain to. On closer examination in the morning the room was full of cobwebs with the addition of a spider. And there was water damage in the bathroom. However, on waking after a short sleep, I turned the extractor fan on and after a while the smell receded. I didn't shower in the morning though for fear of the smell returning. This room number 4 needs a lot of tlc!

Staff very helpful as waited fir us to arrive from airport. Lovely room and comfy bed. Walls could do with a pick of paint though. Plenary of and good choice of snacks in the room with added bonus of fresh milk in the fridge. However toilet didn’t flush. Checkout a bit early at 10.am

Very quaint adorable place with a pub downstairs complete with great menu, outside seating and beer garden. Absolutely recommend if you need a place to stay when flying out of Stanstead airport!

Lovely place

This is a nice hotel in a very convenient location. The room was generously appointed and very comfortable. Staff very friendly. However, it just feels a little tired and needing of a little more attention to detail. Not bad for the price I guess, but not great.

Very convenient for Stansted airport. Code on door for access to bedroom did not work. Urgently needs addressing.

No real climate control though had a fan and some other gadget, and the windows do open. Easy one stop on the Stansted Expess then you’re right there. The train in the AM did not stop frequently

Noisy street and overpriced were biggest issues.

Very nice stay, stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the whole area and the Kings Arms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good food with reasonable prices.

I lucked into this small local hotel, which is part of a local public house. It's around the corner from the Stansted Mountfitchet train station, less than 5 minutes of walking. It was cheaper and faster to take the Tube and train than to catch a taxi or shuttle bus. I arrived late, after their kitchen was closed, but they helped me find a nearby restaurant with takeout, then set me up with cutlery and a pint. The room was cozy and QUIET. It was stocked with breakfast cereal, a pint of milk, coffee, tea, and biscuits. In the morning, there was a public trail to a nature reserve for walking dogs and jogging before I got back on the train for the Stansted Airport (1 stop away). Great spot, highly recommended.

Nice place

Perfect Pub stay. Walking distance to train with only one stop to airport. Stansted is lovely historic town. Bed was very comfortable and it was quiet at night. Staff were lovely. My only critique is cereal was offered in the room, but not enough milk packets to enjoy it. We would definitely stay here again.
