They are very proud of the fact that this an old hotel, but antiques in the room don't matter if the bed isn't very comfortable. The continental breakfast was passable, but the atmosphere reminded me of a funeral parlor, very subdued. What I found most annoying was that the parking gate is locked at 10:00 pm and there is no staff on duty until 7:00 am. We parked in the street and used a pin # to get into the hotel. We hadn't planned to return late, but apparently we wasted too much time enjoying our after dinner cafe and underestimated the 1 1/2 hour drive from the Pyrenee's. We arrived at 10:07 pm. Had I known all this, I wouldn't have chosen the Bristol.

The 2 ladies who were at the front desk for the 2 nights we stayed at the hotel was helpful, kind and totally amazing. The room was clean and being able to park on the premises that was secured at night was a bonus during our travel from Paris westwards to San Sebastián, Spain for business. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Bristol. Will definitely return when we come by this way again.

We stay there every time we are in Pau. Remember that if you need to leave early the courtyard car park is not opened until 7am so plan to park your car elsewhere the evening before.

I wish all of our stays could be as good as this place! The room was a nice size, and surprisingly quiet for sleeping despite overlooking a busy street -- the modern window in the bedroom blocked all noise when shut, and closing the bathroom door took care of the rest. WiFi was very quick in both directions, and worked with VPNs and SSH, unlike several other properties we stayed at. The TV was tiny though, and could not be used with a computer or to view one's own content. Half a star off for that. Staff were excellent.

Ideal location and lovely hotel. Room itself was good but bathroom area was tight, which might be a problem for some people! Make sure to prearrange a space at the hotel. However, local car park was easy to use.

Fantastic hotel, a real unexpected gem - wonderfully updated but still with huge charm. The staff were excellent - very welcoming and helpful to non French speakers.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful room and friendly staff.

Location is excellent - a very short walk to all the key parts of the city and the staff are excellent and very helpful. Parking is limited so remember to reserve a spot if you are driving. Our room had a tiny bathroom and overlooked the car park which proved quite noisy - tbf this might have been a one off with some loud kids but was a pain the night it happened.

This is a small hotel with very attentive staff who are always looking to help you. The facilities are clean and comfortable. It is in a very convenient location adjacent to the pedestrian core of Pau.

A truly lovely old world private hotel, the staff were exceptional. I would stay here again.

I always stay here when in Pau. The location is great, the staff are super friendly and its great value. Some of the higher end hotels have better facilities, but they are like double the price. If you like a good value and slightly old world French style place then I am sure you will like it here and its walkable to the centre and all the bars etc.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in the shopping center easily accessible by walking.
