The room was large and actually had an attached sitting room, but there were no amenities. There was no TV, no alarm clock, just a bed and a sofa , coffee table and a private bath.

There was a festival going on and I'm not kidding; try sleeping inside a concert hall! There were cars on both side of street due to all the carnival rides, etc. and taxi unable to take me to hotel...so I "walked" to hotel bags and heels on!!!! That was the worst experience ever!

Another wonderful stay at Ajijic Plaza Suites. Couldn't ask for a better location; cleanliness of rooms; needs attended to quickly; within walking distance of most anything. Coffee available early in the morning; nice continental breakfast poolside. Owner is a great young man and the staff is always responsive and helpful.

I liked it here so much I stayed two extra days. The hotel staff were especially friendly and helpful in every way. Abel, Beto and Irene were very pleasant and polite. I stayed two weeks and loved every minute of it. The hotel is literally only steps away from the park, great restaurants, the cathedral and a small bank. If you need to buy anything from fresh bread to fruit or cell phones seriously it's all right there a half a minute walk away. Such reasonable prices per night too. Already I'm planning to return.

The facility is in poor condition. Not clean, mold in shower and shower curtain. Beds uncomfortable. Gap under door so bugs came in. No coffee maker, fridge or microwave in room. Coffee maker in court yard, you must go there to get coffee. They do make coffee often during the day. One fridge for all to use, it is in the court yard also. The walks were stone. Uneven. No telephone service.

The owner may have changed the name of the property to Ajijic Plaza Suites (from Hotel Ajijic) but unfortunately has not upgraded the property to live up to the revamped designation. All things considered, the staff is the best thing going for the hotel as they are friendly, courteous and ready to lend a helping hand. The room itself is spacious, but nevertheless has a rundown appearance. The faucet in the bathroom was loose to the touch and the toilet leaked water on to the bathroom floor. There was not even some bottled water for room guests to drink. I though the room was a bit overpriced at $36 a night and I am told they charge even higher on the weekends...not because of delivering any additional value, but simply because they can count on guests coming from Guadalajara for the weekend.

No Soap, No toilet tissue, No Shampoo, No Breakfast (advertised as available) No air-conditioning and Mosquito's in room Internet only worked about half the time The wobbliest ceiling fan I have EVER seen. You have got to be kidding me! Even the TV did not work. As you can see, I was NOT a happy camper this hotel is only worth about $10.00 a night. The staff were nice and do speak English but the hotel is very poorly maintained and the room I stayed in was in serious need of renovation.

This is a modest hotel in a great location. The guidebook said pool / off street parking / Air Cond. That would be no / no / no. BUT, we liked it! Staff was friendly. Room was clean. It was very quiet at night despite being right downtown. You can walk to all the events and best restaurants. The central location made this a great choice.

What a pleasure to be in a room which looks out onto a lush garden. The room was, actually, rooms as there was a bedroom, bathroom and sitting room which also allowed for two more persons. This is not your western type of hotel at all, thank goodness. The water pressure is minimal (a dribbly, yet adequate shower) and the closet area somewhat dark, yet the feeling of safety and pleasure was all around. The nights, after 10 pm were wonderfully quiet (except for a couple of Americans talking in loud voices as they left the nearby restaurant).
