We arrived at Dooly's Hotel Birr and spent 2 hours trying to get in and eventually had help from a nearby business who found Dooly's was closed for renovations) even though I had done an online check in the night before, and that we had been rebooked at the County Arms 2 minutes away but were not notified. My review is for the County Arms hotel where the staff were extremely helpful, the room well presented and spacious, the bathroom was very nice and had a fabulous shower. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent quality. The included breakfast was also excellent quality. The location and grounds / gardens were great also.

Absolutely amazing time at the County Arms as Doolys was having some renovations. We had an excellent breakfast and used the Springs facilities which included swimming, sauna, steam room and a jacuzzi. Overall we cannot say enough about our stay apart from "Thanks a million" 💖

We had a wonderful stay at Dooly's. The staff members (in all areas) were the friendliest, nicest, and most helpful that we have EVER experienced. The food was absolutely delicious and servings were plentiful (breakfast and dinner). Regarding the rooms, the decor and facilities were simple and straightforward, which was fine, and the shower had great pressure and the bed was comfortable with several soft but supportive pillows. Such a wonderful, welcoming experience!

Everything was good. The room was very clean and presentable. Excellent and very friendly staff! Will definitely recommend.

Lovely breakfast - very nice coffees. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Incredible customer service. Carpet on the stairs in the communal area was a bit old but the room was pristine and newly decorated.

Nice warm hotel room when we checked in . kettle there but no bottled water im afraid . hair dryer and iron and fan in hotel room also . staff lovely and nice bar for night cap . Lovely breakfast and quick to be delivered . good stay over all

We had a great stay at Dooly’s, rooms were clean and spacious, staff was excellent and the food was fantastic both breakfast and dinner, highly recommend this hotel!

Everyone was so amazing!! And every morning was able to start our day with a full tummy from their amazing traditional Irish breakfasts

Great central location, friendly and welcoming staff

We stayed in two family rooms with 6 kids and 2 adults altogether. This hotel has been in business since 1747 and we were thrilled with the history, the coziness of the hotel, the staff friendliness is second to none. And the breakfast was incredible. We were pleased. Obviously renovated for modern conveniences, but I felt like it was a vintage boutique inn and I loved it and would definitely stay again.

The room was spacious and clean but what really made the difference was the excellent customer service. From the moment we got there we were greeted with a very warm welcome and all staff were polite, friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!
