Beau jardin, mais les chaises sont vieilles. Environnement paisible. Personnel accueillant.

The description on Expedia is misleading. The beach is a short walk away but the beach chairs are available only if you are a customer of the bar or restaurant (which are not part of the hotel). We rented beach towels from the hotel for the week for use on the beach. Plenty of shade by the trees. Beds were comfortable, but there is only a sheet provided- we had to request a blanket. Kitchen was adequate but could use some pot lids (we used plates) and an oven mitt. Staff were great! Room was quiet and AC worked fine.

Nice location, good price, very friendly English speaking staff. The series of beaches to the right from the hotel is very nice, particularly if you walk for ~20 min, no need to drive far.

A very simple and fairly basic accomodation, but comfortable, with all the facilities we needed. The location was great, 2 minutes to the beach, and about 10 minutes walk to Sainte Luce. Bit disappointed that any change of linen was at a cost (only a few Euro, but...). The desk was manned very sporadically, and their English was only marginally better than my french (OK thats as much my fault). Fortunately our son was nearby and was able to pick up thekeys for us, otherwise I am not sure how we would have got into our room, as we didnt arrive until after the reception was closed. It wasnt too well advertised how to get in touch with anyone. Generally though, we very much enjoyed our stay, and would use this hotel again if we were to return

I stayed at Douce Vague in January 2018 with my son. Our experience was a really mixed bag. We arrived late and a very nice driver who picked us up having found out that we had not had dinner called for a pizza and went to pick it up (a big plus). Next morning the front desk was closed. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes. The desk was closed a lot in fact (one of the French-language reviews confirms this). It seems that it would be better if they would open for 2 hours each day but actually be there during those two hours (a minus). Next to our room there was an office and an elderly guy told us repeatedly in a rather insistent manner that we would carry sand in if wore shoes inside. But we never did wear shoes inside! That left a bit of an aftertaste (a minus). The hotel is very clean &comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, the location wonderful - right on the beach, one can easily walk to shops &restaurants (a big plus). My biggest complaint has to do with the complete lack of flexibility when it came to charging me for the three nights I did not stay there. We had booked for 8 nights, but because of a huge snow storm on the East Coast in early January, we were delayed by three days. I let the hotel know as soon as I knew. According to their policy they could charge me the full amount, but it seemed a matter of simple decency to give me some break (20-50%?) on those 3 nights. I did not use their water, electricity, etc. So why be so inflexible? (a very big minus)

We did not know that there was a running/jogging/walking path for a few miles right by the water. You pass 7-10 beaches along the way - all of them lovely. Sainte Luce is about a five minute walk from Douce Vague. Living quarters at Douce Vague are clean, comfortable and functional. Staff is helpful. Some English. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I booked this room last minute online and was unhappy as soon as I walked in. I changed to a nicer Hotel, albeit for more money, for my last 4 nights even though I was refused to refund. First of all there is no couch to sit on. They brought me some dirty smelly cushions to put against the wall which I couldn't use. Internet was available if you wanted to sit outside on a plastic chair near the office while mosquitoes attack you. I couldn't use my phone for streaming music in my room. The laundry facility was locked up at night so you had to use it during the day when you would normally be out. No place to hang Bath towel, really! and I could go on but. the only good thing was the location, but better places at a better rate can be found nearby. This hotel would be nice for some people who don't mind cooking in the room and doing their laundry in the sink.
