Lovely hotel very convenient

We had an amazing stay the staff were outstanding & so helpful lovely character inn The room was superb with air con a patio with chairs the beds very comfy all spotlessly clean We had a roast dinner absolutely delicious We will defo go back & stay again

This was a very nice hotel. The rooms have been recently renovated and are spacious and comfortable. The staff was always available and eager to help. It’s a fantastic place, and I will definitely stay here again.

Amazing experience! Clean room and nice breakfast

We booked this property because it was very close to a venue we were attending a wedding at, I had booked three rooms and requested one room to be a twin, despite me telephoning twice to check, but when we checked in it was still made up as a double, but it was quickly rectified. We had an evening meal which was pleasant, staff were good but I can’t say over welcoming, the bedrooms were clean, well presented but only had one hand towel, one packet of biscuits and no full length mirror. For the price charged we weren’t very impressed and I probably wouldn’t stay again.

Good hotel, serves good food but I wasn't pleased with seeing hair in the butter they served for breakfast, the utencils didn't look like they were cleaned properly too.

Room beautiful. Dinner quality marginal. Dinner restaurant staff needs more training.

Compact room. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Fridge with complimentary water & other drinks. Well appointed bathroom (but no toilet brush) with an excellent shower and bathroom fitments. Friendly staff. Problem with one of the evening dinners which was resolved without any problem and substuted with an excellent replacement (delicious). Well stocked bar - three cask ales.

Faultless stay, hotel is lovely and the food outstanding.

I recently stayed at The Chequers Inn while travelling with two colleagues, and it was a really enjoyable experience. My room was absolutely lovely - modern, beautifully finished, and incredibly quiet. It was the perfect space to unwind at the end of the day. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and I slept really well. The room had everything you could need for a relaxing and comfortable stay, with thoughtful touches that made it feel welcoming rather than functional. The inn itself is full of charm and character - wonderfully quaint without feeling dated. It has a warm, cosy, friendly atmosphere that makes you feel at home straight away. The food was another real highlight. The menu was extensive with plenty of choice, and the quality was excellent. Everything I had was delicious and clearly prepared with care, I genuinely have no complaints. A fantastic stay all round, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Beautiful old inn. Clean, comfortable room, vast bath & shower. Dinner was spectacularly good, the best meal I've eaten this year.

Lovely staff in the restaurant. Room Immaculate. Although no air conditioning is a shame as that was the only let down
