The staff was very friendly and were very happy to share the history of the buildings. The room was gorgeous and well thought out. It was one of our favorites stays during our 10 day trip to Ireland. Great value for you money.

Lovely rooms all be it a little warm. Emmet (the manager) was so helpful and explained the history of the house. 10 rooms all on a literary theme really well designed. Brilliant breakfast and all of the staff were very helpful and polite. All in all a great place to stay.

The staff and decor were the winning aspects of the Lawrence. The writer-themed rooms were so individual and impeccably decorated. Emmit (sp?) showed us all around the space and told us the history. It was all so charming! Breakfast was top-notch as well. And the location was just blocks from the walled city. We had a somewhat late arrival, and were surprised to see so many stores/ restaurants already closed. (It was a Monday night). We found Brown’s still open…closes at 9p…and had a delicious meal there. Back to The Lawrence…they did everything right, and I would definitely go back and stay there again.

The entire property was introduced to us by Sharon who gave us a history on the property. She also showed us to the breakfast room and the drawing room, named the Oscar Wilde room. She showed us to our room and explained the amenities very thoroughly. We also met both Colin & Emmett who were exceptionally welcoming. The room itself was small but perfect for a couple. Myself and my mother stayed in No. 6 (WB Yeats room). Our room overlooked the Magee campus and was situated on a quiet street with ample on street parking available. The breakfast was an additional cost of £15pp and we were provided with a menu to choose from. The breakfast hours start at 7.30am and end at 9.30am Mon-Fri with different times at the weekends. The breakfast choices were sufficient however if you were not keen on breakfast meals and wanted toast, for example, this should be an option on the menu. The property address is located a 15 minute walk from the city centre with easy access to the city by car. All in all, we would definitely stay here again and we thank Colin, Emmett and especially Sharon for their warmest welcome and allowing us to stay in this beautiful property.
