Beijing Daguanyuan, also known as Grand View Garden or Prospect Garden, is a full-size replicated interior garden of the classic Chinese novel “Dream of the Red Chamber”. Built between 1984 and 1989, it was used as the location for the Chinese national TV adaptation called “Dream of Red Mansion”. In the story, it was created by the Emperor for his concubine to live in when visiting him. This fictional landscaped garden and its actual recreation is a unique classical garden representative of Qing Dynasty architecture. Covering an area of 13 hectares (32.12 acres) and more than 40 scenic spots, the garden has been skilfully designed. It has various classical buildings, such as palaces, pavilions, cloisters, courtyards, water features and rockeries. The landscape has delicate hills, peculiar stones, fragrant flowers and beautiful trees.
