As a fun addition to the Singapore River Safari, The Giant Panda Forest was opened to the public in November 2012, and easily became one of the main attractions to the zoo. The zoo grows its own bamboo forest to feed the pair of male and female giant pandas, Kai Kai and Jia Jia, which recently had just given birth to a male panda cub. The pandas are housed in a climate-controlled enclosure whose atmosphere changes according to the four seasons, imitating their original environment.
