What Guests Say About Their Stay

This stunning hotel left me wishing I could stay another night! From the moment you step in, the hotel exudes comfort and privacy. The seated check-in desks give a nice personal touch upon arrival. I was lucky to be upgraded to a penthouse suite for my one night stay. The suite was simply “wow”. The attention to detail is wonderful - I was pleasantly surprised by bath salts arriving at just the right time as well as peppermint tea to wind down after a long day. The bathrooms were, like the rest of the suite, spotless and stocked with all the necessities and little luxuries such as hair straighteners. There was plentiful space to relax, including a wraparound balcony with great views across Broadbeach and a spacious living area. I didn’t have time to experience all of the hotel amenities on this short visit, and can’t wait to return to see all that it has to offer.

The hotel itself is lovely, high quality and comfortable. I liked the fast lifts, spacious room and comfortable bed and bath. Chromecast and wifi connection to the TV didn't work so I was unable to watch anything on the TV. Within ten minutes of entering my room I received a knock to find a woman standing silently holding a bottle of water and chocolates. I don't know if she couldn't speak English but it wasn't clear what she wanted and was a little unnerving as she didn't say anything. A little further training required perhaps My included breakfast was not logged so I had to stand for almost 10 minutes to be let in (by which time of course the buffet was busy) The barista coffee at breakfast took a very long time and I had to remind them 2 times what I'd ordered. The signage to park at The Darling is not clear and you have to drive around the entire casino to get to the parking spot and then it is not clearly sign posted but it's valet parking. They really need to explain this clearer and some signs on the road around the casino would be appreciated. Overall a nice enough stay, but let down by the small touches which hold it back from truly being a 5 star establishment.

Really great apartment with good views, fitted out well and very spacious and modern. Unfortunately, we were not told about anything including: access, breakfast or room service (no menus available) and when I rang to find out, they could not help as was supposed to be on the QR code, and they didn’t know why it wasn’t. We were both very hungry and ended up eating some chips from the mini bar. On a side note the mini bar had one packet of chips and one packet of cashews. The remainder consisted of drinks… ummm a bit strange in such a nice room. We also did not know breakfast was included and so ordered room service. The room service was very average with brown avocado, cold coffee and food and they missed part of the order completely. Very limited options, not much healthy at all. Was probably all at the buffet we did not know about… When we left we were asked why we didn’t go to the buffet breakfast and we said we didn’t know about it they did not charge us for the (cold) room service. Also, we were not told to only use one set of lifts and we tried to get to our room going up and down for 10 minutes before we asked for help, even then they just pressed a button and did not explain…. The service was way, way below the room amenity, shame really, cannot recommend.

We got to the hotel in the morning before check in but were given a temporary key to use the pool facilities. The pool is absolutely amazing and we enjoyed using this facility, however, the day we were there it was Easter Monday and for some reason the pool bar was closed, hence the pool area was pretty quiet. We could order drinks through a telephone service by the pool but it took a whole hour to have the drinks delivered. So we were wondering how the rest of the service was going to be during our stay. Later on when checking in we were upgraded free of charge to a Penthouse which was actually amazing. It was our wedding anniversary and I had only booked a standard king room so this was a wonderful surprise. Also we were given a bottle of champagne on ice on arrival to our Penthouse. We had booked a meal out that night and felt reluctant to leave the lovely Penthouse!! Thank you for upgrade The Darling! We also wanted to try the Nineteen restaurant but prior to our night at the Darling, I found out that the Nineteen restaurant wasn't open on Monday nights, so I managed to book into a neighbouring hotel for the night before so we could try the restaurant on the Sunday evening which was absolutely fantastic. We did have to pay surcharges during our stay as it was the Easter public holiday. But well worth it and extremely enjoyable.

Loved my 2 night stay at The Darling. My suite was so luxurious and the view of the beach was breathtaking. I felt like a princess. Staff were super friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back!

Absolutely wonderful stay for our wedding anniversary. Valet service and reception were friendly and helpful and all food in the Nineteen Restaurant (breakfast and dinner) was great. Hope to stay again.
