Very clean and well presented room. Lots of space. Air conditioning was just what I wanted in my room and I got it here. My stay was very well priced too. A few mins walk away from Chorlton Street car park. Will definitely stay again on one of my next trips to Manchester.

Great location, easy walking distance to most things downtown. Very friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms were large and comfortable, and decently clean (I get congested with too much dust, but no problems here). The rooms were also nice and quiet, even though there was a festival while we were there and the streets were full of drunk people hooting and hollering, it didn't bother us at all in our room. The air conditioners also worked great. The breakfast was fine: Always plenty of space to sit, and a good selection of food. The food itself was perhaps not always the best (hash browns that have been sitting in a warming tray for an hour lose all their crunch, for example). But it tasted fine and got the job done. We parked at the NCP Chorlton Street garage, which was 25 pounds a day, and worked just fine.

The location is good as the hotel is situated near the chinese restaurants at chinatown. Our room was executive king room, hence there was enough spare space in the lounge area. However, more lighting should be added as it is quite dark when we sat in this lounge area at nighttime. Also, it is difficult to press the flushing button in the toilet. We need to try a very big effort to press it.

While the Guest Services Manager Jack is absolutely amazing and immediately stepped up to try to meet my needs, the hotel fell short of my expectations. First room was dirty (wont get specific- suffice to say that the walls needed to be cleaned). Jack quickly moved us (and to a larger room) however, the 2nd room had a shower that flooded the bathroom with every use. Not sure if the recent tourism surge for Oasis was the cause behind the unsatisfactory room conditions. The breakfast we purchased as an extra was wonderful and did offer gluten free options. Unfortunately, we decided to cut our visit short and only stay for 1 night when we paid for 2.

Fast check and efficient check in. The room was spacious and the bed itself was comfy. Mixed feelings about the pillows. A lot of wear and tear in the room. Damaged safe, stained carpet, tape on ceiling and around TV remote and hole in the the bath. All surfaces and bathroom appeared clean. Good for when not spending much time in the room. Couldn’t hear much from outside apart from emergency sirens slightly which is to be expected.

The tap and the toilets seats were broken. After we moved to a different room the sink taps weren't working nor the shower was working properly at all. There was no warm water in the shower, Additionally the hair dryers were broken in both the rooms too. We booked to rooms, but the stay was far from pleasant.

The hotel was pleasant enough and relatively quiet considering we stayed in the city centre on a Saturday night. Wouldn’t bother paying for the upgrade they email you about in an attempt to encourage you to do so. Not sure what made my room ‘an executive king’. Booked this for as part of my partners Xmas present and only upgraded due to the little things like ‘ wrap yourself in a soft bathrobe and sink onto a king size bed at the end of the day. Enjoy an invigorating monsoon rain shower and refresh yourself with our Gilchrist & Soames toiletries’. Bath robes weren’t anywhere to be found and the luxury toiletries didn’t have working pumps on. They were all snapped. So the monsoon rainshower was great if you brought your own toiletries. Unfortunately we didn’t as we were only here for one night. The room was very outdated with very dirty and dusty curtains. And the bath had strange little black holes in. Id like to think I would book again but like I said, it’s not worth the upgrade.

This has become my favourite hotel to stay in when visiting Manchester - the rates, rooms & location are very agreeable; staff are friendly and overall, the Townhouse is much better than a few other properties I've stayed at in the locale during the past few years. As a solo traveller, it ticks all the boxes and I would highly recommend a stay here.
