The hotel has great view and graceful interior. But this is totally no good for kids. (Almost bad) Guests are required to be extremely quiet in all restaurants, including the breakfast restaurant. As a hotel guest, I've never experienced such an uncomfortable breakfast. It was even more so than at any other travel hotel. The Japanese breakfast restaurant, in particular, was a lot of Japanese people dressed in suits. As a person traveling with my family, I wanted a more comfortable and relaxed dining experience. The hotel rooms and service were pretty good, but overall, I think this hotel should be run as a no-kids hotel.

We picked Chinzanso hotel for the last part of our family trip to Japan with our elderly family and had a great time at both of our prior hotels. However, to our surprise, this hotel lacked critical hospitality measures: 1- They charged us for having our registered psychiatric service dog for 11000+JPY per night while the two other Japanese hotels we stayed, honored that and had him free of charge. 2- There is no real buffet breakfast while it was explicitly mentioned on their listing that it is available with a ~6000JPY fee. Surprisingly, there was only la cart option available with very limited options in the menu and the service staff wasn’t familiar with basic kids friendly options and we had to explain in length on what we wanted (i.e. chocolate cereal!) 3- The pool is available only when guests are not checked out! This is the first hotel we have been at which had this policy. Basically, they refused us to use the pool (which was a service with +5000JPY per person which we were planning to pay to use it - they refused to allow us to pay to use the pool on our last day)!!! 4- The staff consistently provided wrong information to us regarding different services.
