Despite having to climb 3 flights of stairs to reach the reception and accommodation venue, I have found the service and the lodging very accommodating to me! The receptionist was very friendly and helpful, especially in suggesting routes to take to the places of interest that I seek. The only thing was the pantry was on the 5th floor, and I had to climb 2 flights of stairs to get a refill of water which was not very convenient especially since I was rushing out. Overall, it was a pleasant stay

- not enough toilets and shower rooms - not reception until 9.00 pm - not table and chair for breakfast and dinner

Hmm not sure how to describe it - small
Not great place really booked it as thought it would be quirky for the kids - they did loved sleeping up in little alcoves, but overall not great - roof terrace was a bonus but only 2 chairs for the price there are much better places.

Friendly Staff
The third floor climb was a bit of a surprise. Accommodations were OK. Staff was very good. They were friendly and helpful. Good location. Close to MRT, Maxwell's Food Court and Chinatown. People coming in all hours of the night were noisy.

worst hostel I have stayed in SG
The shower was broken. Couldn't use the overhead shower. The handle of the mixer is non-existent. The hand shower had a broken support so you have to keep on holding on to the hand shower when using it. No common area that is comfortable. Non-working outlets at the sofa at reception. The pantry at the roof deck looks like a typhoon had passed and just left it as it is. The worst was the check-out experience. The counter had a sign that says "I'll be back in ten minutes". Thirty minutes have passed and no one came back. I was worried because I might miss my flight and no one was around. I went to the door which had access to call their staff. She instructed me to go to the other branch and check out there instead. How inconvenient. I complained why there was a sign that says the receptionist will be back in ten when it didn't happen. They just said that the reception won't be open for the next two hours!!! They couldn't even come to me and I had to walk away from the station to check out. The reason why I chose this branch in the first place was because it was closer to the station. The lady was not even that apologetic. She just said it like it was normal. Expected. Terrible service!!!

Disappointed...
Its a really standard backpackers hostel with average bedding and minimalist "Alcatraz style" equipment. And it doesn't have the nice atmosphere that one usually find in backpackers, because there is no common area to rest outside the very small rooms. The rooftop terrace could be nice, but there's nothing there to make the place enjoyable. The staff is not very efficient and not really friendly. We had the quadruple family room, which is not safe for kids because the single beds are in a mezzanine with no protection and a very high and steep ladder for access. Except for that, the place is clean and the common bathrooms are correct. The problem is that if you look at their website, you think that it's a "boutique" or kind of luxury hostel, and it's not! It's even an under average hostel because you don't have the cool atmosphere and the friendly staff. That's why we were really disappointed by this place. They should spend more efforts to make the place nice and less advertising on their website...
