Location at central of china town, hotel on 3rd floor not have escalator and elevator
Good service Requests met Hospitality welcome
Good in general, except for the escalator is under construction
Lift hotel and escalator to 3rd floor is dame shutdown and the receptionists is on the 3rd floor. We re so tired when we must bring our heavy case to 3rb floorx
The room is very noisy. You can hear people are talking and partying outside. The hotel is on the 3rd floor. But the Elevator was NOT working. Not just on that day, it looks it has been broken for a long time. We had to carry our luggages to the 3rd floor. Not recommended staying at this hotel.
The room is clean, the only thing not good was the spoiled elevator
Very nice and responsive receptionist
Bad ambiance, walk down the aisle and I feel like in an abandoned building. The policy of not allowing non-guest to visit after 10pm is a bit nonsense
I saw an insect in my room, the reception cleaned it for me but left the smell of insecticide inside the room. I think it's not ok for overall cleaning of the hotel. Another point is that the elevator and escalator were out of service so next time I will not choose this hotel.
Located in the heart of Chinatown. Nice room but need new mattress. Not recommend for those who travel with kids, old people and big trunk. The hotel is on the third floor without elevator or escalator. You have to carry your own luggage.

Also known as Zen Rooms Temple Street
Great location! The staff was extremely friendly and we were allowed to print our boarding passes free of charge, and even had a scale so we could check our luggage weight. The room was small, but had AC, water /tea / coffee, toiletries and they even provide a small bag with paper, pencil, ear plugs and hand sanitizer! One of it's entrances in tight in the middle of a shop, very pittoresque! Great location, lot's of restaurants and easy subway access!

Affordable Accommodation in Chinatown...
I had no idea I booked a room in Jinshan Hotel!! As my booking was for Zen Rooms @ Temple Street I was naturally looking for a hotel of that name, silly me (the concept of ZEN Rooms was unknown to me then...). My criteria was an affordable, decent place to stay in a central location, and that's what I got. Located among the rows of shophouses off Temple Street, Jinshan Hotel's entrance is but a door leading to a broken down escalator. Reception desk is on the 3rd floor, one level up from Yum Char Restaurant which occupies the 2nd floor. In all fairness, the Hotel had communicated that access to rooms are by stairs only for this time. But for travelers with heavy luggage or bad knees, this will be a challenge. Basic check-in, friendly enough staff who collected a S$50 room deposit and joked about the escalator being 'work in progress'. Received a ZEN Rooms pouch with basic amenities inside (the only visible connection to ZEN Rooms brand I encountered for the entire stay). My room was decently sized, although it smelt a little musty, the kind of smell associated with old places. Bathroom was nicely laid out with shower screen that kept the rest of bathroom dry. Drawback to that was it made the shower stall really tiny, stretching your arms meant bumping it on the glass. Kettle for hot drinks and complimentary coffee/tea & water was included in room, electronic safe located in wardrobe, universal plug points was laid out next to the bed which was convenient. Noticed that the trash bin has not been emptied from the last guest's stay, kinda tardy for housekeeping to overlook that honestly. Room quality was decent, bed was firm and clean, split unit a/c functioned well and water temperature and pressure was also good. Had an old school window facing out to the road (which looked like it could use some cleaning too). Major plus points were the fact that food was abundant all around (McD is round the corner, local food is everywhere), local / touristy shopping is literally at your doorstep and the Chinatown MRT station is a 3min walk away. Overall, for the price paid, I would not complain, nor expect anything more (except perhaps for emptied trash bins). Bear in mind this is Singapore, any cheaper and you'll be staying in a dorm instead!

Great little hotel in a very good location
We really enjoyed our time at jinshan, due to a few reasons. Firstly the location was great very close to the metro and bus line for Sentosa and to explore all of Singapore. Also the area happened to be a lot better priced in terms of for food and drinks rather than areas like Clarke Quay or little India. The staff where very nice always welcoming and polite. The room was kept very clean and the free water every day was a nice touch. The hotel also helped arrange taxis for us with no hassle and helped give tips about certain areas to visit.

You get what you paid for
This is a decent lo-price hotel on a very good location in the centre of Chinatown. It's among the cheapest places in Singapore. I see a lot of bad reviews, but in the most expensive city in the world, for that price you cannot get better. I actually came back to this hotel twice, after checking out a few other hotels. It is clean, staff is friendly, location perfect and wi-fi is very good. Yes, rooms are rather small, but that's the case in most other hotels in Singapore. Make sure you request room with a window.
