Visit for Lunch
The scones and tea are for real. Great cream and jam but quite expensive. Lovely setting overlooking the horse stables area. Staff were okay but need more training.Lots to see and do and watch the horses training

Not the best of Singapore.
This place has definetly seen better days. The room in itself was nice and big enough, but I have a feeling there had been some kind of water damage in this place, it was damp, and smelled funny, had a hole in the roof of our shower, which was on the first floor. There were very few people staying there and all the room doors were open when we arrived. They serve breakfast which was included, but fried eggs, beans, onion rings a noodles were all cold. The staff was nice and helpful, but the location is not very good. Its about ten minute walk from, Sixth avenue train stop, and it takes about 30min from there to get to the center. There is a some kind of dog shelter next door and they do make a lot of noise. Room has wifi, fridge, tv and aircon. But next time id go somewhere else.

Reasonable considering it is Singapore
The Riders Lodge was a nice place to stay and at a reasonable rate too. When I got there at around 2am because of flight delays etc., they were completely booked and the room I had requested wasn't available until the next morning. They did however have a small room ready for me that night and in the morning I did change rooms without any hassles. My room was facing the side where the kennel was and I did hear the dogs barking but that was mainly in the morning. The room was neat and clean as well as the bathroom and shower. I was a little disappointed with the fact that they only had large towels and not any hand cloths to wash your face with. Outside of the bathroom was a closet that had a faint mothball smell to it. Other than that the room was nice. There were only a few channels on the TV that I could understand, but who cares about watching TV when you are in Singapore!! They had complementary breakfast every morning which was nice before getting my day started. All-in-all a nice place to stay in Singapore.

Old and worn
You do get a cheap room, considering this is Singapore. But that's all you get. Dogs will bark most of the time, and I'm not talking about 3 or 4 dogs. I don't know why there are so many, but they are really loud. When I was in my room, someone just walked in and was surprised to see me there. It was someone from the staff and he said he was looking for his keys and hurried out again. A short walk and you have about 50 restaurants to choose from, so the location is good for dinner. Also a short walk away, is the subway station, so easy access to downtown. Still the rooms are nothing more than a bed to sleep in and an old bathroom.

Will definitely try something else next time.
We supposedly had booked the best room. But it hardly had what people call a window...... So they gave us a better one that still did not look as nice as the picture. I asked to book a taxi for next morning and I was told no need (by the manager I guess). Little did he know that it is not possible to call a taxi at peak hour in this remote place. The only good thing is the MRT station 5 minutes away that takes you straight to downtown or to Botanical Garden.
