All-in-one experience. Love the vibe, the restaurants, the staff

Everything was awesome. Clean room, beautiful beach and swimming pool. All hotel staffs were super friendly and professional, especially the Bellman named Anh, he was so so nice and helpful. Pretty sure you will be impressive by the service of the resort, everyone try their best to meet your requests. Besides, don't forget to try the restaurant in front of the beach, that's a great experience you should never miss (and again, restaurant's staff is great too). I definitely choose SOL by Melia for the next trips to Phu Quoc. Love xx

Sol by Melia just ruined my Melia experience. I had come to Phu Quoc and booked my stay at Sol by Melia. The only reason I chose Melia over so many other hotels was that I had a great experience at another Melia. There was perfect in every way possible! We loved it there! My family and I are very new to Saigon. We are an ex-pat family. We arrived on Wednesday in Phu Quoc, April 13 and booked a Superior room for 3 nights initially on the website for 6+ M. When we arrived, the guest services said he would charge us an extra 5M for my 2 kids staying in the same room with us whether we request an extra bed or not. I had told him the same was not true at another Melia and I was only charged for one child extra and breakfast fees. He did not believe me and insisted that we pay an equivalent for an extra room. This I thought was unfair because if I had only one child in there we would not pay extra. So essentially only one child is extra. So I asked for perhaps a discount. I told him that the rate he is giving is equivalent to 2 rooms on the app. Instead of providing me with an alternative rate or other options, he challenged me to book on the app. That was simply rude and my husband and I got so upset that we just booked on the app to spite him but even then we were not happy. But we were so hungry and tired from the very delayed flight that we had to give up arguing. The next thing the guest service guy does is even more unthinkable. He put us in 2 rooms apart, 406 and 431. He said there were no other available ones at that time and I only got a basic room. He said there are 175 rooms booked that night. 30 mins after I asked them for a closer room, they were able to find one. Perhaps a better room in terms of price but not so. Apparently, the other guy has ended his shift so we cannot question him any more. What is that? I think he was trying to upset us. To prove a point, I checked the next day, there were not so many people eating breakfast at the restaurant, telling us that there were still available rooms. Anyway, that whole ordeal was dreadful enough to ruin our stay. The breakfast was a total disappointment as well. There were flies and bugs, the food was not fresh or delicious and rather incomplete. Not at all like another Melia. It ruined our whole Spring break to say the least. Once I asked room service for a plastic bag and they never brought it. Rooms are not exactly clean, especially the bathrooms. The fridge is not working too. The whole time, we mostly stayed out in other places or slept in. We even asked if they had a bus to Vin Wonder and the receptionist again suggested we pay a taxi. Luckily someone said there is one at 8:50 am. Your beach has trash and the water is so dirty! We spent one whole day away. Otherwise we would have rented a car just to stay away but would have paid a hefty amount. I am just so frustrated by the kind of service we are getting. The experience is totally not what we expected of Melia as a brand. Imagine hoping for a good vacation and paying double and getting a terrible one still. We asked today to check out but they said they cannot refund one day because it's on the agent that their attendant pushed us to use in the first place. Just bad! We are going home with tears and will definitely not recommend Sol by Melia to anyone at all. This is by far the worst place in terms of service we have been to so far in Vietnam. We expected more from a very well established brand. I hope nobody experiences the same. I hope you can fix the problem over there.

I like SOL. The room was very nice, clean, and the staff was very friendly and hospitable. variety of food 4 * standard dishes (I don't like western food, so I don't try) nice view, comfortable virtual living .clean green is smart ok
