Ratu Boko is an archaeological site known in modern Java as Kraton Ratu Boko or Ratu Boko Palace. Ratu Boko is located on a plateau, about three kilometers south of the Lara Jonggrang Prambanan Temple complex on D.I. Yogyakarta. The original name of this site is still unclear, but local residents named this site after Raja Boko, the legendary king mentioned in Loro Jonggrang folklore.

The site covers 16 hectares in two hamlets (Dawung and Sambireja) of Bokoharjo and Prambanan villages. In sharp contrast to other Classic period sites in Central Java and Yogyakarta, which contain the remains of temples, Ratu Boko displays the attributes of an occupation or settlement site, although its exact function is unknown. Maybe the site was a palace complex belonging to the Sailendra kings or the Mataram Kingdom who also built Prambanan temples scattered throughout the valley
