The staffs are friendly and helpful, the room is large and clean. However the location is far from the center and jetty which need to pay 50rm/way/2pax by car to driver and took about half an hour to reach the center.

They made us wait to check in so long. I checked in last. It was after the check-in time. The room even was the worst. The bathroom pee smelled terrible, and the toilet was leaking.

Worst experience ever. This is place is located in middle of nowhere and super unclean and old ghost apartment. Good luck if you come here to relax, I could not get at least one hour sleep in the 1night stay, and left the place first thing next morning. Horrible place.

The room look exactly like in the picture. If you want to find peace, this place is the best. Nice view with nice food at affordable prices at the restaurant.

About

Tioman Island is a mukim and an island in Rompin District, Pahang. It is located 32 kilometres off the east coast of the state, 20 kilometres long and 12 kilometres wide. It has eight main villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek in the north. The island is part of Pahang territory, although it is geographically closer to mainland Johor than to mainland Pahang, and is accessed via ferry service from the Johor coastal town of Mersing. Tioman Island is a small island and is a very famous spot for tourists to explore providing all the nature and splendid water it has to offer. The island is surrounded by a lot of marine life and is popular among people who love to snorkel and scuba dive. The Island is covered in tropical rainforests, home to butterflies, lizards and monkeys.

How to Get There

By Ferry

Most visitors arrive by ferry from Mersing on the mainland. Bluewater Express operates the ferry services and its boats are fast and comfortable taking approximately 2 hours to the first jetty in Kampong Genting. There are three services per day in each direction but sometimes only two services during weekdays but tidal issues or lack of passengers may cause cancellation. Some ferries also depart from Tanjung Gemuk which is the main gateway to Tioman Island from Pahang.

By Boat

It is possible to book a private boat from Mersing, which is independent of the tide. The Ride costs RM 1300 one way and only departs if enough passengers are found, willing to put together that amount.

By Bus

Mersing is a gateway to Tioman Island as you can catch a ferry to Tioman from Mersing. You can take a bus to Mersing and book a bus ticket to Mersing from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore online to get 10% discount on your online booking.
