Victorian castle experience for kids
Victorian Look! lots of chandelier throughout the premises.
We stayed in double storey room, located at backyard of rose garden + battery operated car (below 30kg, great fun for kids), which is also nearest to alternative carpark. There are 2 carparks, one nearer to main entrance (one building away) and another at backyard (near to other local houses).
Our room is elaborated castle decor with spiral staircase (leading to another bedroom), castle bed for 2kids, king size bed, drape curtains, velvet lounge chair, plaster ceiling, stained glass window. Auto coffee maker in room. 2 toilets both with WC, one comes with long bath.
The highlight of this premises is Victorian outfit complete with shoes, hats, gloves and accessories (like bracelet, hair band, necklace..)! Free for you to try, take photos! Every guest room was able to bring 2 outfits & one accessories to your room for free photography. When you are done, just come back for more! To be truth, they weren't so strict...so you can actually bring more. Ha..
Among all the minsu we stayed during 14days, this is most expensive. weekday rate cost NTD7800 (others cost around NTD5000), not sure about weekday rate. Full payment before checkin. However, beside breakfast, they do give you free cocktail drink (between 8-9pm, kids can change to juices) & some discount vouchers. Owners visited Singapore quite frequently, so in their menu, there is laksa! They also serve high tea & dinner for non-staying guests. Welcome drink - sour plum, not the most favorite for kids. Saw one couple check-in late around 9pm, was offered free cocktail and sour plum drink sent to their room...great hospitality!
Plus: During our short one night stay, met another Singaporean family. Cuz Xin Yuan offer big rooms, their family of 6adults+3kids stay together; double storey with spiral staircase which leads to another TWO rooms. Ideal place for extended family!
"Less perfect" - need to improve on toilet storage space. Standing shower splashes water all over. So they placed towels, toiletries above fridge/beside coffee maker (visual flaw). Or else i would have awarded Xin Yuan 5stars for best presentation cuz even their switches are decorated designs, power plug for mobile is USB friendly! For breakfast - 3tier high tea style (with steam buns, Vietnamese rice roll, steam pumpkin+sweet potatoes, pepper chicken with prata, hard boil eggs) but overall i find the steam food too soggy. Milk tea/coffee as usual.
Verdict: My kids love this castle stay, breakfast definitely can be improved!
