I Love Ban Khiang Talay. It was our 2nd time staying here. I think that it would be great if the rooms came with a kettle and tea/coffee amenities. The location is perfect if you want to get away from the crowds of people and enjoy your private beach.
Good place for relaxing and nice staffs
- Backpacking
The room is okay, good enough for what we paid. Getting in the resort is a bit inconvenient specially if you plan to go home late. The road heading to the hotel is not concrete and the way is dark. One major complain is the shower. Water is running really low. Breakfast is okay. Nothing special.
Nice, without any voices. delicious breakfast.

A little piece of paradise
Perfect place for a few days to unwind and enjoy a beautiful white sand beach and warm turquoise waters. Very quiet Monday - Friday. Our Thai hosts were welcoming and kind and helpful. The food in the open air restaurant is delicious. Our hut is raised right next to the beach with a lovely verandah. 2 soft double beds - plenty of space, air conditioning and a bathroom with warm shower. All clean. A fridge a welcome luxury to keep water cold and a tv which we didn't use, but had news in English plus Thai channels. Easy walk to the next beach north for minimart ATM beach massage and water sports and livelier/noisier bars. Some sellers come down to our bay so you don't really need to move!! A 10 minute stroll to sunset point on the other side. If you want simplicity beauty and peace and quiet this is the spot for you. Having visited a few of the other bays and seen a few of the other accomodations we feel we really lucked out here. Thoroughly recommended.

Great beach!
Having walked around all of the beaches in Ko Samet, the Ao Thian beach where Ban Khiang Talay is the cleanest (an issue in Ko Samet!), one of the least crowded and, of course, beautiful. The location in itself is worth the stay at Ban Khiang Talay!

Great place, fantastic beach
We stayed at Ban Khian Talay for one week with our family of five and had a great stay. Our room, K2, was spotlessly clean and big enough to accomodate the five of us. Every day the room was cleaned, cool water was put in the fridge and towels were changed. The beach was fantastic. Only 20 meters away and very quiet. There were free beach chairs and our three boys had a great time in the sand and the water, no sand flies or jellyfish! We visited three other beaches at the island but thus was the best! The restaurant provides good food at a good prive, although the portions were not really big. Staff was very friendly and helpful, would recommend this place and beach highly to everyone.

A little gem of a place!
Beautiful location, right on the beach. Very peaceful, turquoise water, white sand.Everything you need is here but also worth visiting is the nearby beach over the hill which is only 10 minutes walk. One of our highlights was chatting to Mr We and throwing stones into the sea for his gorgeous dog Olè! Mr We and his staff were very friendly and helpful even organising our cab to Bangkok from the mainland and it was waiting for us as we stepped off the boat! Thankyou!!

Terrible service
The staff knew very limited English which made it hard to explain that the hot water was not working in the first room they checked us into, then the second room had the same issue and they made me feel like I was the problem. After sending a technician out to see the issue in both rooms we got moved to a third room with working hot water, only to find that the TV remote has melted batteries in it. When I asked for replacement batteries they made me feel like a pain for asking. I think that before someone checks in their staff should check their rooms to see that all is working. The third room we got were more modern and comfortable with good bed and shower although drain very slow so bathroom always flooded, they originally told us we would move back to the basic room when they fix the hot water but we stayed in the updated room for our entire stay. While walking to other resorts on the beach I noticed that they had beach towels, kayaks and snorkling gear. This place offers none of these, at best they had a few inflatable toys for kids. The first day our room did not get cleaned at all despite having the sign on all day. By the second day of having the sign on, I asked the staff if someone could make up the room, after 3 hours we return to an unmade room. When I went to the reception they tried to say I must not have had the sign on and it was my fault! We booked activities at other resorts as this one offered and knew almost nothing! The beach is nice but I would not recommend this hotel you are better off booking one of the other resorts close by!
