OH SO POOR .... BE WARNED!
We chanced by this hotel while visiting its undoubtedly beautiful location. We had intended to stop for lunch and refreshments after a swim on a deserted white sand beach. We were greeted by a very friendly local guard, pristine lawns with sun beds and beautifully maintained gardens. The central walkway led up to reception, where we were summarily ignored. Oh there were staff there, but they would not acknowledge us. We took a seat and watched the passing few guests who were waiting to be picked up for a day tour. Meantime I decided to go to the bathroom. Now there was the massive proof that our suspicions that something was off about this place were confirmed. I have seen cleaner public toilets that are squat hole in the ground style than this tiled and cubicled horror. What is WRONG with people What is WRONG with the reception staff .... the cleaning staff? They were just metres away - how could they not smell it? The floor was coated in water. Every toilet bowl was unflushed, every wastepaper bin was overflowing, there was urine - and worse - in all 3 cubicles. On the toilet seat, on the floor. What filthy people behave this way and what uncaring staff leave this mess for guests? Having failed to find anywhere within the hotel able to serve a simple lunch, and having been ignored by reception staff too busy chatting, we noticed the duality language signs - Thai and Chinese. We then utilised TA to understand the situation with this particular hotel. As another guest so aptly put it, it's a Chinese tourist farm, set up exclusively for one night visitors who come to party and drink. Further chatting with local businesses confirmed that the resort is notorious in the area for the loud and boorish behaviour of its 100s of young guests who come only to party hard for one night then disappear next morning. We chanced upon a place of beauty and serenity and were close to be lulled into believing it was possibly a paradise found .... caveat emptor! You have been warned!

Visited walking by
This place is a "no go" for people who want a western standard. It is full of hundreds of guest from China who arrive in speedboats for party (karaoke and horrible smelling BBQ) We were shocked to see such a place in a tranquil island like Ko Yao Yai. Be aware! Don't book!

If you are not Chinese, don't go there.
Me and my friends arrived to that hotel by chance, because our original resort was overbooked. The rooms are ok, quite big, quite clean but old and they should be renovated - especially bathrooms. Cleaning service was good. We didn't know all facilities, because in general the staff don't speak English! Even at the reception, which is really shocking. The pools were ok, however the lack of lunbeds and umbrellas on the beach is a shame. The fact is, this is the resort adjusted to Chinese guests and maybe the standard is good for them, but not for Europeans. It is not 5* resort. The Chinese people are very loud and they simply don't care about the others. This hotel should change the name. The breakfast is real field of war... when we came to the resturant it was nothing to eat. ONLY one lady was speaking english, so she organized some food for us. She was very nice and cheerful. Lack of room for luggages, lack of showers for guests who need late check out. Lack of place where you can change your beach towels.

Chinese Tourist Farm. Loud Annoying Music All Night.
If you are a young Chinese Tourist this place is perfect for you. Arrive in the afternoon with hundreds of other Chinese tourists and enjoy loud music that will surely keep everyone else at the hotel awake until late in the night.

Loud karaoke bbq next to beach all night
Blue bay Koh yao Yai seems to have boatloads of tourists coming in every night by the beach. They tried to come into our resort by the beach to the Santhiya. They sing karaoke all night, drink beer and eat Chinese bbq, very disturbing sight actually, they seem to do this every night all night, not good for hotel guests, do not book! Book at Santhiya Koh Yaio Yai
