Comfortable but extremely overpriced
Conveniently located to the pier, restaurants and main beach, Chic Hotel is a comfortable and simple guesthouse with free WiFi,, air con, and hot showers. Rooms are small but come with towels, shampoo, and rather incongruously, a DVD player with a collection of American movies. Our room wasn't exactly clean when we arrived, although the owner insisted it had been done before our arrival. We paid nearly 4,000 baht fir 3 nights, which given the quality was ridiculous. I can only assume this was due to holiday (Buddhist Lent) weekend.
If booking on booking.com, be aware the hotel goes by the name of Provisa Guesthouse. It was very diffiuclt for us to find once on the island. There are no signs and no one in the area had a clue where to find it. We tried calling the number provided many times, but to no avail. Eventually we had to call booking.com directly, who managed to speak to a local woman who was able to help.
