I was there with a group and neither the group or me find this property up to the mark. The entrance is narrow but opens up to a decent sized parking lot. The lobby is placed on your right as you enter and the staff there are helpful and courteous. There are two restaurants on the ground floor one for the Indian Nationals and the other for the the non Indians. Majority of the guest were Indians food there is average and the spread is very limited, I would not like to name the staff there at the breakfast, but he seemed so indifferent, a few of my group members and myself asked him regarding replenishing the food on the buffet section, his attitude was so lackadaisical, he did not even bother to answer or inform the kitchen to refill the food trays, he looked the other way ignoring us and walked away.
The hotel has seen better days and seemed as if no one was interested in looking up to maintain it.
The rooms are big and bed seemed comfortable, found the pillows a wee bit hard and not to my liking. The mini bar was stocked with the regular stuff. Complimentary two water bottles were available. Wifi is complimentary but signals are bad in the room, to get stronger signals and have a steady internet connectivity, head to the lobby, where speeds are better.
The bathroom was having a shower for which one had to stand in the tub, The water pressure was very low and when the shower was turned on with both the cold and hot taps opened you got scalding hot water and when you turn down the hot water the pressure reduced drastically. The soapy water from the shower which collected in the tub took ages to drain, this seriously needs to be looked into, having a shower was an ordeal. My group members also faced similar issues while bathing, I had informed the reception but nothing was done about it.
They have a swimming pool and it was clean and water looked very inviting but again due to our tight schedule we were not able to use the pool as timings were from 08AM to 08PM, and we were getting ready to leave or arriving much later.
What really aggravated me was after a tiring day at 3 AM early morning I was woken up by a loud knocking on the door, my first thought on hearing the knock on my door, was maybe one of my group member had some problem and wanted my assistance, when I opened my door I found a prostitute who was wanting to know if she could offer her services to me, I declined her offer and asked her to leave, (I am aware that many people who visit Thailand come to enjoy the nightlife but then those guests who are not keen on such intrusions should not be inconvienenced, Thailand has much more to offer for a visitor then only nightlife) to my surprise the next morning while I was at breakfast a few of my group members also informed me that they had a lady knocking on their door too, I informed the reception and they apologised regarding the disturbance.
When we were there we were fortunate enough to witness a fire drill organised by the Hotel during lunch time, it was truly an amazing experience for all of us to learn how one needs to react during a fire emergency, and how one needs to put out the fire without endangering ourselves and others. The hotel staff were made to participate and trained on fire fighting.
The location of the hotel is a plus point it has restaurants close by and the famous Walking Street is just a few minutes walk. Loads of massage parlours, Seven Eleven all within a stone's throw from.the hotel. The beach also is at close proximity, malls and shopping areas are a plenty.
