Watermark Resort
It's too hard to contact their staff if you planning for future visit. Even though it is a great place and people are so nice and helpful during our visit. Too difficult to do advance booking as no one seem to be interested in doing business. Hope thing will get better when I try days later.

Fantastic getaway
We were picked up from our hotel in Ao Nang and transported to the middle of nowhere. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens we were treated to a traditional Thai massage (which my wife, a connoisseur of massages if there ever was one, said was the best she's ever had), a delicious lunch and then a soak in the hot springs with more massaging and yoga. We stayed overnight in the bamboo cottage which was very comfortable (even without A/C) and had another soak in the pools before we left again feeling zen AF. The staff are very friendly and will bend over backwards to make your stay enjoyable. Would thoroughly recommend to get away from it all. Bring a good book if you're staying overnight.

Middle of the Jungle
This place truly unites you with Mother Nature, it is literally in the middle of nowhere - great if you need that getaway from civilization. We chose Wareerak for its proximity to the Emerald pool. To get to the resort, it took 35 minutes from KBV and then another 10 min on bumpy, unpaved private road. Upon arrival, we were greeted with two fresh coconuts at check-in. We waited about 20 min for our villa to be cleaned and were asked to order dinner soon since the kitchen would be closing soon. I'll be honest to say that I was only somewhat content with our villa because of the AC. Especially after dripping sweat all day outside, all I wanted was to blast the AC and it wasn't very strong. We ordered our dinner and while waiting, the room got a bit more comfortable and I even caught a baby gecko in the room. In that time my boyfriend also got a ton of sandfly and mosquito bites, so don't forget to spray yourselves down with that 100% deet insect repellent. It was beginning to take a lot more effort to stay optimistic about this place, until they brought over our dinner and set it up on our balcony. It was DELICIOUS. Traditional southern Thai food, I can't remember the description of my favorite dish but it's the first thing on the menu under appetizers, some chilled vegetable with shredded chicken, shrimp, peanuts, and this sweet-ish dressing. The fresh fruits were absolutely a perfect way to wrap up our dinner. As the sun went down, all sorts of different sized lizards came out to hunt for bugs and a cicada symphony formed in the background while we streamed Kendrick lamars new album from our mini speakers. So romantic. We woke up at 7:30 in the morning to wash up and get ready for Emerald Lagoon. Coffee/tea/milo(!) were available in the restaurant area, and we ordered a club sandwich (which again, was surprisingly delicious). Dang worked super hard to accommodate us and personally drove us to the Emerald lagoon, making sure to get us there before it got swamped with tourists (we witnessed this as we were leaving the lagoon around 11:30). After returning to the resort, we got Thai massages outside that were so wonderful I fell asleep, despite being drenched in sweat. The Emerald Lagoon was incredible and if you really want to experience it early in the morning, then Wareerak is the place to stay.

Hidden Gem
Thought we'd take a punt on this retreat, and was always a bit dubious until we actually arrived at the gates. Was well worth that punt... This place felt like it was as authentic as it gets, and is set in such a beautiful location. The hot spring baths are the highlight, but it has so much more to offer. Can't help but feel that if this retreat was promoted better, it would be heaving. The staff are very polite, and always happy to help. We booked a one day spa treatment which included things like massages and hydrotherapy, well worth the money, and felt like pure indulgence... Think I must stress that this is not the place for you if you would like to explore the local area for a good nightlife, or are in need of external entertainment. On the other hand if you are looking for a couple of days to seriously wind down, relax and settle into a good book for the evening surrounded by a stunning scenery, this is 100% for you. Also take something for mosquitoes, unfortunately being in such idyllic settings has its drawbacks.

Must visit
Good place with natural hot water spring. Pls book one day tour which covers hot water spring along with emerald pool. Please do avoid on weekends as it is very popular with local people. Although time given was very short
