10 was clearly too many. There wasn’t enough privacy between beds because it’s just separated with some kind of nets. But nevertheless good location, perfect for backpackers looking to see Gion and Kawaramachi. Heater was turned on and it worked perfectly. I think for the price, this is by far the best that you can get. Maybe next time I’ll book the women only bunk bed.

Staying in a female-only room for 3 days in this hostel is very comfortable and satisfied. Clean hostel, complete facilities ranging from pantry that can be used for cooking, hair dryer, lounge, laundry, fast wifi, and most importantly close to Kyoto Train Station / Bus Station, which makes it easy to get around Kyoto. Besides that the receptionist is also friendly, quite fluent in English and informative.

It is a very nice guesthouse but it isn't suitable for couples to stay because of sharing bathrooms. Also, the head pillow looks old. Other than that, everything is nice.

Location of this hostel is the best for your visit to Kyoto. Near subway station, Nishiki Market, and Gion area (from which you can take a walk or bus to Kiyomizudera), which to sum it up, it's in the middle of the city and has easy access to any part of major sightseeing in Kyoto. The hostel itself is easy to find. We book a private room of 4. Room quite comfortable though the free space is quite small if you open 4 small luggages at the same time. My friend said her bed is kinda dusty, and the hallway is very cold somehow, but that's all the con I could find. Bathroom is squeaky clean. You can leave your luggage after you check out. And what I like most is one of the receptionist recommend us a ramen restaurant that locals usually go, and it didn't dissapoint us. Would be staying here again.

Nice hostel .. Staff are friendly too. Strategic location close to Tsukiji Market, Pontocho, Gion, Yasaka Shrine, bus stops that can reach all tourist areas, as well as the Hankyu line to get to Osaka.

Well, this place is really a very nice place to stay (if they have rooms with private bathroom). It reminded me a lot to the time when I lived in a boarding house. They have lots of bathrooms and toilets on every floor, so even though they are shared, you would get a vacant one. The kitchen was great, they have 2 microwaves, 2 fridges, and 2 stoves so you can really cook (self cleaning after use, of course); complete kitchen utensils and the common room was big. I wonder if it will be packed during summer, because when I stayed there, I hardly saw anybody. The kitchen will make you feel like you're home, anyway. They also provide a folder in each room (also displayed in common room), containing information on places of interest and how to get there. They also provided places recommended for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which was very helpful if it is your first visit to Kyoto.

The guesthouse was pretty clean and organised. They do provide very clean kitchen and guest living room. Their staff was very friendly. We can keep our luggage at the guesthouse even before check-in time. Very recommended.
