good and strategic location in China Town area, clean and the receptionist and others are very helpful, the room has high ceilings, soundproof even though it is on the 1st floor and it is not disappointing, will stay there again. everywhere is easy and access to the city with monorail is easy and close. shopping and restaurant access can be reached on foot.

I vacation in Sydney with my husband and 1 child. Very strategic hotel...in front of the hotel there is paddys market. Looking for a taxi and eating is also easy. The rooms are also very comfortable. I took a family room for 4 people...and I was very happy that the bed was very comfortable. To put my large suitcase luggage quite a lot of places. For me praying is also a lot of places. The hotel clerk was very helpful while we were there. thanks Ultimo...you're great, stay like this and keep up👍

This hotel has got a great location where it is very near Chinatown with so many places to eat till night. It is also very near Paddy's market and tram station. It is walking distance to Darling Harbor as long as you are up for it & willing to walk past the wonderful garden (you won't feel tired because even though the road was a bit long, but it was filled with many spots for you to stop by and take pictures and before you know it, you have reached that wonderful place). The room was exactly the same as advertised. We got the room facing the road so we could hear few of the cars with loud noise, but since we were tired mostly at night, we did not feel bothered by it. Btw, there was a mini market in the area as well for your convenience.

The Ultimo was a perfect spot for us as we arrived in Sydney for a few days from the US. The location was in a neighborhood that had restaurants open late and was easily walkable. Mass transit was very easy to access. The room was clean and comfortable. We would easily stay there again.

My room (rm no 202) was next to the staircase on the top level. There was construction work taking place on the stairs, which started at 7 a.m. and woke my family up every morning. We couldn’t get the rest we expected. In addition, although the room appeared tidy, we found some cockroaches, and the towels had some stains. Early Morning Noise and Unexpected Pests

The customer service was excellent with friendly happy staff to welcome us . Room was lovely and clean . Bed was super comfortable . We were upgraded on arrival for some reason with no extra cost . So close to Central, Darling Harbour China town and everything else in the centre of Sydney .. fantastic food on your doorstep. Great old building made modern and super comfortable .

It was a little difficult with a small tired 5 year old going up and down the stair due to no lift and the room was so tiny that we had to eat on the bed causing more laundry. But I have been going there since 1992 due to its location but they used to be much roomier and easy to get around now they are very small and tight.

Service upon departure was non- existent. No provision in the accesble bathroom to clean up water due to wet room layout, the accessable shower (closest to the windows didnt supply hot water for some reason) Stayed here many times over the past 10 years, and this is the first time that we have been disappointed.

Overall, a pleasant place to stay: helpful and obliging staff, both reception and cleaning. Had to ask for bowls and spoons so we could have our muesli for breakfast; didn’t want to buy breakfast as well as lunch and dinner for 9 days! Maintenance issues (television and bath tap) attended to promptly. Renovation noise didn’t bother us; we were out and about most of the time. Thank you Des and Sue

I got into The Ultimo at the last minute because I'd messed up my booking at another property. The check-in staff were very friendly and efficient. The only downside is that the lifts aren't available for a few months while major renovations are being done but staff carry bags up/down stairs to rooms. My room was very clean with a comfy bed (std queen). I particularly appreciated the separation of the shower from the rest of the bathroom, and the very comfortable chair with a small coffee table. There are many restaurants around the Ultimo, and there's a large Woolies Metro Express on the next corner. It's only a 5 minute walk from Sydney Central station. I'll definitely use the Ultimo as my Sydney hotel when the lifts are working again.

The staffs were nice and helpful. Elevator was out of service but the staffs offered to carry my luggage up and down the stairs which were very helpful. The building was built in 1911 which I experienced the table lamps on both right and left went off and back on few times . I checked the light bulbs and electrical outlets seem fine. Hopefully it wasn’t a haunted building as my friends tried to scare or tease me. Lol Otherwise the great convenient location had me extended my stay for 2 more nights.
