Haus Tauern Am See

Exceptional stay with Bert and Wendy whom we now know very well since last 2 years. They are always very courteous, helpful and hospitable, and their place is a paradise to stay in Austria in either Winter or Summer. The apartment is nicely furnished with all amenities and loaded with toys and games for children. They have such an adorable pet house cat named Mollie, who is such a darling and it is very comforting since she always plays with our 2 children of ages 5 and 10 years. The property has an attached shared garden area which is huge and had lot of fun activities for kids of all ages to play or spend quality time in evenings. We highly recommend Haus Tauern am See in this beautiful town called Heiterwang for all your sightseeing activities in Tirol and Zugspitze Arena. We also visited Fischer Hotel am Heiterwanger See which has a beautiful Heiterwanger lake and a dream children’s playground on the lakefront. The Zugspitze mountains are the highest in Germany and they are less than 20 minutes drive from this place. There is also the famous Ebsee near Zugspitze which is a must visit. Also the Neuschwanstein castle, Walderlaubnispark and Lechfall in Schwangau are must visit and nearby to Bert and Wendy‘s beautiful home. We visited all these places in 2 days and had great fun as family.

Gert and Wendy are fantastic hosts and very pleasant; they truly desire your stay to be comfortable and enjoyable. The location is convenient to all the area attractions and set in the most adorable town with amzing views and scenery. This stay was by far one of our most memorable European travel experiences. Thank you for making it so special with your warm hospitality and beautiful home.

Beautiful stay. I traveled solo, but if I had traveled with 4 other people, all 5 of us would have had a spot to sleep comfortably. The hosts were very kind and easy to speak to. I will stay here again in the future.

This property is recently remodeled and very nice. It was a really nice place to stay.

We very much enjoyed our week in the lovely apartment with beautiful views of the mountains and nearby village, only a short walk to the stunning lake. Our hosts were very helpful with advice on child-friendly activities from suggestions to making the bookings for us, and the children particularly enjoyed the small pool in the garden too. The fresh bread delivered to our door each morning was a real highlight.

Wendy was an incredible host! We loved our stay and will be back. Everything Wendy recommended was incredible- the restaurant she made reservations at and the lake. The breakfast she offered was perfect and you have to stay and get the apple strudel. It was our favorite hotel we have stayed at as we’ve travel across Europe. We would love to be back and spend a week here.

This was one of our favorite nights on our 2 week road trip! The owners are SO nice and we felt right at home. There was even a house cat we enjoyed petting since we missed ours back in the US. We walked to a lovely clear lake, crossed the highline 179 suspension bridge, played pool in the basement while having drinks and listening to music. The room was so cozy and homey. Neuschwanstein castle not too far (be sure and book in advance!) Wonderful breakfast. We will definitely be coming back to stay here!

Das Haus Tauern am See hat uns als Familie mit 2 Kindern gut gefallen. Der Garten mit Pool, das Klettergerüst und das Trampolin haben uns sogar hervorragend gefallen. Alles war in sehr gutem sicheren Zustand und wir haben unsere Kinder (4 und 6) gerne dort spielen lassen. Für sie war es sogar das Highlight nach Hause in den Pool zu gehen. Unsere Gastgeber waren sehr nett und haben geholfen, wo sie können. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ausflugsziele waren nach kurzer Zeit mit dem Auto erreichbar. Wir waren auf der Zugspitze (von der österreichischen Seite), auf der Hängebrücke Highline 179 und auf der Rückfahrt nach BaWü noch im Legoland in Günzburg, was auch morgens bis zur Öffnung um 10 Uhr gut machbar ist. Die Wohnung war sauber, in der Küche war alles vorhanden und einige Dekosachen haben es etwas heimischer wirken lassen. Der einzige Abzug auf insgesamt "gut" ist aufgrund der kleinen Bauschäden in der Wohnung. Die Türen sind alt und der Rahmen hat zum Boden viel Luft gehabt, weil er abgesplittert war oder der Lichtschalter auf der Toilette hing an den Kabeln nur noch einigermaßen in der Wandöffnung. Die Silikonfugen waren nicht vom Handwerker gezogen oder das Waschbecken hatte einen Sprung. An der Wohnung wurde viel selbst gewerkelt.

Cuando uso Expedia para reservar y no airbnb, es porque busco un hotel. 1-Solo dejan un papel de baño muy pequeño para 3 días, ¿por? 2-Jamás hay alguien en recepción(no es hotel) 3-En la noche las parrillas dejan de calentar, ¿las apaga para ahorrar electricidad? 4-El minibar no funciona, estaba apagado. 5-Envía mensaje (tarde) para pedirte que saques tú la basura y casi casi limpies todo, eso no es un HOTEL. 6-Te dejan cafetera sin café, ¿todo bien en casa? Jamás regresaría, detesto los airbnb que se registran como hoteles en Expedia, las 3 veces que he tenido esta situación (incluyendo este “hotel”) todo sale mal. (Cabe mencionar que he hecho reserva en más de 100 hoteles en la aplicación, así que no, no es algo que me pase a menudo).

Vriendelijke ontvangst door de eigenaar. Modern en schoon appartement. onze tieners hebben heerlijk gevoetbald in de ruime tuin. Hier zijn tevens een speeltoestel, trampoline en zwembad aanwezig. kortom een aanrader. Wij waren op doorreis en dit was een fijne stop in een prachtige omgeving. In leermoos hebben we heerlijk gegeten restaurant Sam.
