There is no internet here! Does not have even water complimentary. I read some review said they have free breakfast but not true.

The room, location, and view were beautiful but the staff at this resort is what made this stay so amazing. I will forever appreciate and recommend this place!

Shout out to Javier and James! These two men were so welcoming and had all the answers! The room was almost sound proof; rain is always heard no matter where you are. Grounds were well kept. Would stay at Mata Rocks again. Thank you, James and Javier for being there when we needed guidance.

The staff and people that were regulars at the bar were amazing. The place was clean and beautiful! Brian set us up with some really good tours. We will definitely be coming back!

Super quiet and private, the pool needs some TLC, no local tv channels, wifi works excellent, clean and comfortable rooms, good parking lot, bring your own coffee bag for the coffee maker, good safety box, cool staff, highly recommend to request second floor room with private balcony..

Horrible hotel. The security guard was bothering the female guests and the manager did nothing about it.

I can’t say enough about all of the AMAZING staff at Mata Rocks!! They welcomed us and gave a tour upon arrival, which included a complementary welcome drink at the beach bar. Over our 4 night stay, they helped us arrange our golf cart rental, snorkel trip to Hol Chan, suggested dining options close by (including Robin’s Kitchen, which was a small local take out spot with the best jerk chicken!), and called to book our early morning taxi to the airport on our last day. They have recently gone through a change in ownership and the improvements are visibly ongoing and consistent. As it was outside of the main San Pedro hub, it was much quieter. We had a room that opened onto the pool deck overlooking the beach, which we loved. I highly recommend Mata Rocks and hope they are able to keep the rates affordable so that we can return. It feels like Brayan, Javier, James, and others have become friends that we want to visit again. Thank you so much, all of you!

The staff was wonderful and the rooms very comfortable. The staff at the bar is awesome and the lady who cooks the breakfast is amazing!

The staff was pleasant to deal with but they recognized how bad it smelled and provided air fresheners for the room that did not cut it. The stagnant sargasm and garbage floating in the water ruined any chance of a good stay.

We loved it here! It was our first time to Belize, and didn't know what to expect or where to stay. We planned 5 nights on Ambergris Caye, but only booked the first 2 nights at Mata Rocks. We thought we could just go to another place if we wanted. We ended up staying all 5 nights here, and it was a great choice. After our first 2 booked nights, a larger room opened up and Brayan offered to upgrade us to the new room at no additional cost. Then for nights 4 and 5, an even better room opened up and Brayan offered to upgrade us again (and this one even had a balcony) at no additional cost. Mata Rocks had no reason to do this other than to provide outstanding service and utilize their property to the max so that their clients have the best trip possible. Outstanding! Their beachside bar/restaurant is great. We had breakfast there every morning. We would bring back fresh fruit and Javier would cut it up for us. We caught fish on a fishing tour and had it cooked to perfection. Food and drinks and ambience were all wonderful. Like most properties here, there's a sea wall in front of this property so that sand is not swept out to sea. So you can't just walk out into the ocean. But again, this is common here. The chairs on the beach with the palm umbrellas make up for the seawall tho. It's a perfect setting and you don't have to reserve a seat as there's plenty of space. I even fell asleep in a chair 1 night to the ocean breeze. Brayan is the perfect host. Thank you for everything!

The staff were very good. Food was very good. The property could use some updates but this is another country

My wife and I stayed here in March of 2025. Over all we very much enjoyed our stay and were completely won over by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff. Brian, the resort manager and Javie, the bartender, repeatedly went out of their way to help make our stay great. Anytime we needed information, dinner reservations or help with transportation they took care of everything, they truly were great. The resort itself shows a bit of wear and the plumbing is the result of being on a small island and lightly suffers as such. There is a small "beach" area that they have created but it buts up to a sea wall, not a sandy walk-in beach, not bad just good to know. We were on Ambergris Caye to SCUBA dive and this resort was a very short walk from Belize Pro Dive Center which made it very convenient for us as well as having a great taco stand directly across the street. I would certainly stay here again and recommend it, just have appropriate expectations for staying at a small establishment on a mildly developed island.

The property was beautiful and exceptionally maintained, though the staff made our stay truly amazing and unforgettable. Thank you Brian, Javier and Gustavo and the Cooks. Their bar and restaurant is simply the best, the food and drinks were deliciously outstanding. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone visiting Belize. I read in the reviews that this is not a resort...where this might not be a traditional resort style place this did have everything we needed for this trip plus a whole bunch more! I was a little skeptical when we arrived, a little smaller than the pictures made it look but that passed quickly. This is such a beautiful stop. We had a very nice room overlooking the Sea and the pool! The room was clean, great shower although the bathroom was a little small (this is an island after all) but it was very comfortable! The bed was very comfortable and we woke up day one greeted by the most amazing sunrise we could have hoped for! We sat out on the balcony and watched the sun come up, what a way to start the day! The service here was really the bright spot! Coffee and great food in the morning! Great recommendations from where to rent a golf cart to where to go to dinner! The best staff, friendly and very very helpful! Great spot to sit out on the beach after breakfast and enjoy the beautiful view and the sound of the water! Will definitely stay here again, this was a win!
