This hotel is close to shops, restaurants. It is parallel to Isidora Goyenechea street, near the theater, and parks. The staff is welcoming and very polite. Breakfast included with all sorts of favorites such as breads, pastries, deli, yogurt, cereal, coffee, natural juice, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. It is actually near the GOLF metro station and that takes you to many places including the art museums near Bellas Artes station. Chile is an amazing country and this hotel is well-located in Las Condes so I highly recommend it and will be back to the same place.

This is a must stay hotel if you are looking for a truly personable and friendly environment. The entire hotel staff is attentive, super helpful, and always with a smile. Example? We made a small mess in the bathroom because we noted too late that the shower head was leeking. We left the room for the whole day and returned late that night. The next morning we noticed that the shower had been fixed without us even saying anything to the staff. I stayed there for a week-long business trip with colleagues and returned a couple of months later for a private stay. On both occasions I felt truly welcomed and would return any time. Having the headquarters of the new president elect right next door right after the election in January 2010 made the second stay even more exciting.

Overall appearance of the hotel was good. The room itself is in need of repairs and upgrades like Furniture, TV and fixtures but the worst part was the bathroom where we found moldy grout around the shower and walls, cracked tiles and vanity cabinets are old and simply useless. We noticed the closet was in need of an ironing board and an iron which we really need at the time of our stay. For the area we were looking forward to a better and cleaner room and we were disappointed.

I don’t understand how this hotel has such good reviews. The sheets were stained, the mattress springs made it almost impossible to sleep, there were broken tiles in the bathroom. There was a safe, but no key to open it. There was no iron and the closet door in my room was attached to a slanted wall so I had to jam my body into the closet to keep it from slamming shut. The service was also really bad. Checkout took very long.

I chose the Neruda Express because of its proximity to the Metro and to my friends' house. For location, it's great. It is only a couple blocks from some of the best restaurants in Las Condes, and there are two metro stations within a few blocks as well. The room was large, with a double bed, desk, and sofa, but a bit strangely laid out. I had to move the sofa a bit in order to sit there and watch TV (which was fine for watching from the bed, but not what I wanted to do). There was also only one outlet available as all the others were in use for various lights and appliances. Breakfast was similarly OK but not outstanding.

Biggest issue for me is bad internet connection in the room, which is to me critical for my work. Room is clean but feels cold, no character, breakfast basic. Reception arriving was very friendly, but checking out was opposite. Price might be interesting for location, but I want to pay a bit more for better services.

The hotel is very close to both metro and bus services so it's very easy to get to the centre of Santiago and other areas of the city. It's also a couple of blocks away from Avenida Isidora Goyenechea where there are a number of good restaurants. For those who don't have Spanish there can be language difficulties as most staff don't seem to have a high degree of foreign language skills. The hotel itself could do with a bit of an update. The breakfast buffet was varied, but one day when there were a lot of people over a short period of time the staff were totally overwhelmed so if you were in a hurry you'd likely miss out as tables weren't cleared and food wasn't replenished quickly enough to cope with the number of people.
