Cando Living

When we arrived at Hotel Cando We were completely exhausted from three flight cancellations during the holidays. We met Jesse, the manager, at the time who was very professional, and figured out a way to deal with someone who could not speak Spanish. Our rooms were exceptionally clean, Netflix was available. The water was hot and the beautiful patio was very inviting! Across the street is the museum of Jade and of course many other historical museums and neighborhoods to walk in and visit. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hotel Cando!

I have stayed here over the years and always have enjoyed the location and value. The service has always been excellent, with friendly staff. Location is great if you like staying in central San Jose. You have supermarkets within a minute. This is a little Gem that is great on the pocket book and clean. Hot water is solid.

This property is a peaceful clean and most convenient location Best price in town Walk out the door and you are where you want to be. Strongly recommended

No signage on entry door. Had to buy my own ice tray. No locking screens on doors, so you left your door open. Positive is the friendly, courteous, and knowledge of the Staff, Antonio is helpful and Awesome, great asset for the owner

Great location in San Jose. And a great and friendly staff.

No sign outside; difficult to find. 'Full' breakfast option is a scam; you only get a voicher for $4 discount. Poor construction; you can hear everything in adjacent rooms. No hot water in sink. No screens on doors; great climate outside ... but can't enjoy without letting in many mosquitos. Very few rooms have A/C; travelers should read the fine print on every room before choosing. The 'blackout' curtain is just a pull down shade that doesn't cover the window. Overall, beautiful courtyard ... but everything else about this property is disappointing. Would never stay here again

Besides being a little hard to find due to lack of signage otherwise the apartment was very good for the price with good location and English speaking helpful staff

The young lady working there was super helpful. Very informative. She gave us her cellphone number and did all translation for us when we purchased the event ticket. Even let us use her ID to buy event tickets. The room was large and modern but bathroom needs attention. Shower water splashes every where coz it does not have a proper curtain or door. Overall the room not cleaned. They only change out bed linens. Very noisy coz the guests played loud music passed midnight

Softer lights for bedroom..maybe a lamp by bed. Very central to everything.

Best property for $50 per night in downtown San Jose.

Centrally located, convenient to everything and yet very private and shielded from the street noise. The rooms facing the garden are best. Thanks to the staff for making me feel well taken care of

There was no water at all from evening till morning.

While it looks clean in the pictures my bed had diarrhea stains that still had a strong smell. The toilet had hair on it as did the pillows. I was moved to another room. One of the pillows in that room smelled and had been recently used. I would suggest they was their linens between guests.

A great place to stay, centrally located and lots to see right on the doorstep. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect for solo travellers, couples or families. I would recommend this to friends or family without hesitation. I arrived late evening at the airport and used their pickup service. Convenient and the reception stayed open later for me.

Very trendy and modern hotel in a great location that is walking distance to downtown landmarks, parks and China town. There wasn’t a hotel sign outside but had the street numbers and a unique door with a security system which uses a fab card to enter. I was traveling alone and felt very safe. Loved the decor and garden area in the center with couches to lounge. Also had a TV area and patio on my floor. I took the room with AC which was spacious with a living room area, kitchen with an eating counter and the bedroom upstairs loft style with no doors. The TV had a free account of Netflix as an added perk. The staff was very helpful with recommendations and spoke perfect English. All in all I recommend this hotel.

It can be tricky to find but once inside cando living looks great! Staff very helpful. I stayed in a studio apartment for 1 night which was nice, however to note that you can hear noise from the next room as walls very thin! I still had a good nights sleep though!
