I would absolutely stay at the Grand Joanne again. The room was warm, stylish, comfortable; the location is terrific, right next to central station, Tivoli Gardens, Glyptoteket, Planetarium and 500 places to eat within 10 blocks radius. The rooftop dj's were terrific and we enjoyed Aperol spritzers and met some fun people from Sweden on holiday. Rooftop shuts down immediately when it rains but then they move the party downstairs to the bar/restaurant. fantastic cocktails and excellent service.
One of the finest hotels we've stayed at in recent years.
Next to our lovely accommodations the staff was the best thing about Grand Joanne. Everyone from the front desk to the bartenders, the servers and cleaning staff were absolutely 5 star.

After looking at so many hotels in Copenhagen I decided on Grand Joanne, and I’m so glad I did! The hotel is stunning, clean, convenient location, friendly staff, stunning rooftop bar, the list goes on! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great hotel to stay in for their city break.

Perfect location adjacent to central train station and walking distance to all the popular neighborhoods. Our original room was much smaller than expected/pictured and was missing some of the amenities. After 2 nights, we were able to switch to a new room in the same class, which was much more spacious and looked exactly like the photo.

We stayed in the “cosy” room, which was indeed quite compact for two people, though that was expected from the description. While the size was fine for a short visit or one person, we did notice a few areas where the experience could be improved. The hallways could have been tidier, and although housekeeping visited our room, amenities in the room weren’t replenished during our stay. Interactions with staff varied - some were warm and helpful, while others were less so. With a few adjustments in cleanliness and consistency of service, this could be a much more enjoyable stay.

Grand Joanne was a perfect spot to explore Copenhagen. The rooftop bar is cool. Room sizes are typical for the Nordic countries. Well appointed. Great bar and reception area bar. Train station is close but not noisy or dominant. Would definitely return.

While this hotel has some good points, I can’t recommend it.
The location is convenient if you're arriving by train or bus and visiting Tivoli. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff was friendly and helpful.
However, the negatives outweighed the positives. Our room was on the 1st floor facing the street, and street noise woke us nightly. Higher, quieter rooms seemed available, but we weren’t offered one—possibly because we booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel?
The bed was worn out and sagged badly, causing me back pain. My wife found it very soft and overused but wasn’t as bothered. Our 10-year-old son slept on a thin floor mattress that took up nearly all available space. Online photos suggested a proper daybed, which was misleading.
Hot water was unreliable, taking 15 minutes to arrive or sometimes not at all, resulting in a few cold showers.
At $450 USD per night, this was unacceptable. I’m writing this from a Hamburg hotel costing less than half, with far better comfort and quality. Yes, Copenhagen is a premium market—but in this case, not worth the price. I’d look elsewhere.

The locations is perfect if you want to explore Copenhagen. Close to Metro and main train station. The room nice amd clean - but the standard room is very small. If you want to stay longer thank one or two nights a larger room is required.
Nice bar and nicely rooftop bar - but a bit pricey.
The staff very helpful and smiling.
