The property is amazingly beautiful surrounded by well kept interesting gardens. The breakfast is by far the best I've had in in Denmark. It had a wide variety of fresh, well thought out dishes that were prepared perfectly! The classic rooms are small... very small. We had to move furniture to fit 2 standard sized check bags to get the door closed. The shower drain was clogged, but the staff was quick to fix it.

This is (still) my go-to place in the area with our company HQ nearby and always pleasant, fulfills my needs and in a great area / environment. This time I will highlight the excellent breakfast.

Hotel facilities, staff and food are all excellent. Beautiful setting and lovely grounds. Room was quite basic and air con not great. I had a room with 2 single beds. Bed not comfortable. No toiletries in the room.

The Portner suite was spacious, clean and fully functional. The breakfast buffet was really good !

Really got lucky with warm clear weather in Denmark which highlighted the beautiful property we turned up in. The grounds are so beautiful we stayed an extra night. Great staff, great breakfast, great position with views to Sweden.

Beautiful grounds, fun and courteous staff. The food was amazing and all the veggies were grown on site. Across from a beautiful marina. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The waiter was a kick! I would deinitely go back.

My son and I have now stayed in 4 hotels in Denmark, all totally different, and this one was BY FAR our favourite, not only for comfort (best mattress yet), great breakfast, but also for service and games (pool, ping pong, bikes, trampoline). There is also a cool sculpture park behind the buildings! One thing to know: the walk from the train to hotel is far enough that I would NOT recommend doing this with children and definitely not in the rain. We would have stayed here longer if our travel plans allowed!

I am a regular at this place and choose it for the convenience, friendly service, excellent breakfast and atmosphere. The surroundings are beatiful.

What a wonderful place to stay!

Excellent location with fabulous dining options.

We stayed here at the start and then decided to return at the end of our road trip from Copenhagen to Oslo. If you want to be out of the city and have a chilled vibe then this place is for you. The breakfast is excellent & a great start to the day. The grounds are large and lots of sculptures around (with QR codes giving information) - so you’re doing a gallery just by being there. Free coffee and tea machines around the premises along with free water bottles. The bikes are free if you get a superior room but not the standard. If you want a bike and there are two of you - the. You’ve covered the cost of the upgrade. We did this on the return visit. Being honest, I didn’t feel much of a difference between the rooms. I had phoned before making my return booking and was told there is a balcony. We were given ground floor so there wasn’t. The shower pretty much covers the entire bathroom floor which wasn’t ideal. There are many things to do on site - pool table, table tennis. The beach and marina are just lovely and I watched the most amazing sunrise at 5:30am (early but worth it). If you’re visiting this area for the first time - be aware that most hotels don’t have air con - so nighttime’s can be pretty warm. Staff were generally friendly. The lady who checked us in the first day was exceptionally helpful. It’s more pricey, perhaps, then some other hotels close by. However, you get free parking and an amazing breakfast included - I would definitely return.

I keep coming back - its always good to stay there. Nice rooms, excellent breakfast etc. The only thing I would suggest is to have a few power outlets for phones/tablets that are a bit more conveniently located, i.e. near the desk. This wont prevent me from coming back though.

Old but nice hotel with very good service. The only disadvantage were, that both restaurents were closed during the stay (only breakfast). But cafes and restarents were at the harbour only ~300 meters away.
