ibis Bristol Centre

I was in Bristol for an extended period to visit granddaughters. The ibis was in an excellent location, next to the harborside and with easy access to Bristol’s City Center.

We stayed in for one night only and it is the nightmare, when we checked it the room make us so itchy and we tried to just shower and sleep. But we found there is mould at the shower head. Also, when we sleepy it my neck have reaction and my friend’s skin rashes are getting more and more. We requested to change the room, which the staff did, we changed to another room and it seems abit itchy but it is able to take it. Then 9:40 in the morning, someone just knock so badly to the door and we don’t know what is going on, a staff say that something goes wrong and wants my full name, after I told her she say my name out loud and walk away without explain. I asked when I checked out and she explained the colleague put me in the wrong room, that’s why she knocked and confirm with me again. There is so many ways they can fix the problem, night shift staff should leave a note of why the room is changed, the lady who knocked on the door can just call or leave me a message to confirm instead of knocked on my door aggressively. There are so many options in Bristol and I will never stay in this hotel again. The room is not clean and when I back home I still feel itchy after hot shower.

Pros: Smooth check in/checkout Convenient location Friendly staff You can leave luggage before check in and after check out, which is great Taxi button in Reception Clean room, comfy bed and air conditioning Cons: A group of people were running around the corridor for about half an hour from 3am one morning which interrupted my sleep. I informed Reception straight away but there was no reply or action. The bathroom door didn't shut properly.

Stayed here many times over the years as it’s convenient. However, this trip fell below the usual standards and will consider other options next time considering the rate isn’t competitive and you get a better deal elsewhere. Overall, The room and decor is tired and needs an upgrade, the mattresses on the bed are wafer thin and marginally thicker than a sleeping bag and tend to slide off. The breakfast is adequate, but service needs improving as there were lots of plates and rubbish on the tables and very little availability/room and not much activity restocking the buffet. Staff at Breakfast seemed indifferent, although service at reception was pretty good. Overall, I don’t normally moan - but for the price I was paying I’d expect more and better value.

Ideal location for Bristol centre. Clean, comfortable accommodation. Staff friendly and helpful. Couple of problems with the room - hinges damaged on bathroom door so that it wouldn't close - not fixed whle we were there. Kettle broken - emitted a smell and taste of smoke when first used - replaced.

Really comfortable one night stay for our trip to the Hippodrome nearby.

Ideal locale, but rooms are a bit dated and those and corridors in floors in desperate need of a refresh…

Located near a number of bars so fairly noisy. Bathroom door didnt shut properly. No water in room. Noisy air con. Beds not the comfiest.

Stay was ok, till I left my portable charger in the room, called the hotel and was told it’s not there, then proceeded to tell me call back it “might” turn up.

The location was great, service great, breakfast great. The only let down was the cleanliness of the bathroom as it had an ambulant disabled bathroom which was a wet room but unfortunately you could see the scum marks around the edges of the coved flooring. Just needs a good scrubbing. But apart from that it was great.

Good for what I required an overnight stay.
