Splendid Hotel & Spa Nice

Staff were very nice

Location is lovely and the roof top bar with incredible views is what makes this hotel. We booked the junior suite and it looks nothing like the pictures. May need to update those to give a more realistic view of what the room really looks like and it’s very outdated. But it was fine. Only other criticism was the dreadful drainage smell coming from the bathroom…… we did tell reception on departure and were told it’s a common thing on the French Riviera….. I would be interested to know if every other hotel has this same complaint for a 4 star hotel?

Best location as it was close to all the major points of interest and also quiet

The hotel is well located, not far from the beach and Promenafe des Anglais. Its on a quiet, leafy street. The staff were very nice, efficient and helpful, both at the desk and in the restaurant. Clean, roomy on the 7th floor, plenty of closet space. There wasnt alot of light in the bathroom for doing makeup but otherwise, all good.

We had a very nice stay at the Splendid Hotel. The location was great and only a short walk to the promenade and many, many restaurants and attractions. The view from the 8th floor is amazing - there is a pool, hot tub and plenty of seating and the staff will bring your food and drinks out to you. It makes for an amazing way to experience the sunset. A few minor issues - the hotel only gives a single bottle of still water per day despite the number of guests in the room. Calling down to get more was a hassel - they directed us to go to reception and argued when I wanted to buy more. I had to go to the bar upstairs on floor 8 to get a 1L bottle of water but you could tell they were unfamiliar with the request. Very minor thing but the hotel needs to make things like that more easily accessible. Americans like our water. The hotel breakfast was also great, during the weekdays. On Saturday before we departed, the already very small area was filled with guests and there were no plates, forks, and it generally was unclean (spoons caked it egg, found a hair in my sausage). A disappointing departure day. Beware also while floor 3 looked nice, but I had seen how dark and dingy the 2nd floor was and was shocked how inconsistent it was. Overall, we would go back for sure, as the staff were generally nice and accommodating and we had a nice experience.

First two days there was a very bad small of sewage in the hallways and lobby. Not sure what caused this but by third day it was better. Overall this is not a place I would recommend.

Great service but terrible smell emanating from the washroom, which woke me up during my stay. If this issue hasn't occured, I would rated the property 4/5 or even higher.

Hello, We enjoyed our vacation in Nice. Splendid hotel was conveniently located, the rooftop bar was beautiful and reception was very friendly, helpful and professional. Unfortunately, it appears that the rooms are not being cleaned thoroughly. On the third night of our stay we accidentally discovered someone's dirty socks under my daughter's bed. Those were not our socks, they were clearly left there by previous guests and the housekeeping did not even vacuum under the beds. We complained to the reception and were told they will notify housekeeping. Later this day, after housekeeping came through, the socks were still there. We complained again. That night housekeeping came and removed two socks that were closer to the edge of the bed, but there were more socks under the bed that were not removed. I am sure if you look under the bed in the room we were staying in, those old socks are still there. This just shows how cleaning is being done at Splendid. We will return to Nice, but, unfortunately, will not be staying at Splendid.

It’s absolutely fine, however for a 4 star hotel its not a good quality stay

The hotel is nice overall, but it’s clear the property is past its prime. Some areas have been updated, while others are in serious need of renovation. We stayed on the first floor and appreciated the spacious balcony, though the large fence completely blocked the view and any breeze. The decor feels dated and worn, but the hotel is clean, the restaurants were good, and the location is excellent. All in all, it’s a decent place—but definitely due for a refresh.

Loved our stay for a quick 48 hours in Nice! The desk gave us great recommendations for restaurants. Great location, easily walkable to the beach and city. Loved the rooftop pool and bar! Looking forward to coming back!

The hotel was ok with a pool and rooftop bar. The room was a suite, very spacious, but not very cosy. The ambiance was off with a very low ceiling and uninspiring interior. Friendly service overall, and good location. Overall, the feeling of the room means a lot to me,, so I would not go back another time.

Property located on a quiet tree-lined street that is close to all the attractions including train station, beach, restaurants and cafes. The staff is superb and professional including front desk, rooftop pool and housekeeping. Hotel has a gym, spa and onsite-secured parking. Only issue in a great property is the carpeted guest rooms that have a musky scent.

4 free drinks in mini fridge each day. Best air conditioning unit Ive ever known. Windows have black out shutters. Hotel clean with great facilities. Breakfast was top quality with freshly baked croissants

Splendid Hotel was splendid indeed! Within walking distance to good restaurants, and the Promenade des anglais. The rooftop pool was the highlight! We spent our second day there, lounging and enjoying the friendly service. Would go back in a heartbeat!

Shower head needs attention, tv is old and not enough British tv.
