Hotel Rakuyu was great! We booked the traditional Japanese room which was a fun experience. The way they describe the food that is included with your stay is not like "dinner" they refer to it as small bites and drinks - however it is a FULL buffet. You absoluetely could only eat the food provided here and be full. They serve breakfast 7-9, snacks 3-5, and small bites and drinks 5-7
The hotel is on a huge hill, but we walked up and down it many times. They also have a walking path that takes you straight to the city vs the hill that takes you down more toward the water area.
Overall would recommend. The views are lovely!!

It was amazing great food very helpful staff shuttle service was very nice and helpful, I recommend downloading WhatsApp to call them as our phone service did not let us make calls. Staff helped with luggage shipping also which was great! English speak staff was great also. Rooms bueatiful onsen great!

Located at the top of a short, but very steep hill. They run a shuttle service to/from the train station though. Room was large and comfortable, and the views are wonderful. I would stay here again.

We loved our stay at Rakuyu! The property is clean with a restful and calming ambience. The lobby/front lounge area is beautifully appointed, with the most amazing view of Lake Kawaguchiko, also shared by the rooms. The public onsen seemed like a really nice amenity, but we did not use it as we booked the private one, which was a lovely experience. In addition, the included breakfast, tea time, and cocktail hr offerings were amazing! The food and drinks were great, with a ton of variety. The location is very convenient; it is right next to the Panoramic Ropeway and a short walk into town. We arrived within the time the shuttle was not picking up from the train station and did have to trek uphill to get there ourselves, but it is definitely doable, if not the most pleasant in late June heat and humidity. We were able to take advantage of the ride back to the station on our way out, which was quick and convenient. In short, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to others as well as come back ourselves!

Enjoyed the amazing view from the lobby and our room. Also really loved all the delicious food served in their club lounge.
Friendly staff, nice location… it is quite steep of a walk up and down the narrow road, but doable.
Already planning to come back on our next trip to Japan!

It was a little pricey but well worth it for those who drink alcohol since there is food included with the stay. The staff were wonderful. The amenities were nice. The views were beautiful.

Extremely clean, friendly staff and quiet hotel. Afternoon tea, evening snacks and breakfast all exceptional. Room was large and bathroom was lovely after a few days of 20,000+ steps. Would highly recommend and wished we could have stayed longer

Very quiet and safe area. Shuttle bus to and from Kawaguchiko Eli. Views from my room are gorgeous. Was able to experience Mt. Fuji for my entire stay. The staff were super helpful, kind and polite. Will encourage people to book their stay here.

The hotel was outstanding with great service and amenities. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are beautiful, spacious and with an excellent view. The breakfast, tea and cocktail was delicious. It was so good we didn’t bother going to other restaurants. Finally, it is close to the lake and ropeway and a 15 min walk to the station. I highly recommend this to my friends and family.

We arrived within the time the shuttle was not picking up from the train station and did have to trek uphill to get there ourselves, but it is definitely doable, if not the most pleasant in late June heat and humidity. We were able to take advantage of the ride back to the station on our way out, which was quick and convenient. In short, we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend to others as well as come back ourselves!
