Was nice little dirty by the pool are and the room

Nobody was at check in, i waited for an hour. no lock on the doors and i didn’t even stay there i couldn’t get a refund.

We came to our hotel and there was cigarette stains on the couch, weird stains on the sheets, furniture was falling apart and had duct tape on holding it together at places. No safe, the lock was with a key but no dead bolt. The area was also questionable. It was difficult to locate the actual area. We left imidiately and found another hotel. Do not stay.

We checked in and the room had stains on the furniture and the “clean” bedding. We were honestly afraid we’d get bed bugs. There was a couch that didn’t seem even suitable to sit on for a short amount of time. They advertise a rooftop pool which doesn’t exist. We had to leave and find a new place to stay within 15 minutes of arriving. What a waste of money and our efforts. As regards to safety, the doorknob seemed like anyone could come in on us at any point. To top it off, nobody at Silversands could speak much English so there was no point complaining so we just left and had to pay to stay elsewhere for our stay.

Great Location and Friendly Staff, but Some Minor Letdowns I recently stayed at Silversands Hotel Boutique in Playa del Carmen, and overall, I had a great experience. The hotel is perfectly located on 5th Avenue, right in the heart of the action, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the lively atmosphere that makes Playa del Carmen so special. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, which I really appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to help with anything I needed. However, there were a couple of small disappointments. The shower wasn’t great, which was a bit frustrating, and I was surprised that the room didn’t come with an electric kettle, which would have been a nice touch for making tea or coffee. Despite these minor inconveniences, the location and service made up for it. If you’re looking for a central stay in Playa del Carmen with a buzzing atmosphere, this is a good option!

Black mold on the wall below the air conditioner due to leaking water. We tried another room but it smelled terribly of mold. We left and forfeited our prepaid two nights for our own health.

There was no water during the stay. Impossible for a shower or toilet flush. Awesome location

Microwave did not work. Bathroom did not drain and had to take shower in standing showered water. No one at front desk to check us out. And door lock at the street level gate stuck a lot and was difficult to operate. But one handyman helped me and got the gate open this morning and sprayed down the lock with WD40. Very nice man.

overall good budget accommodation on the doorstep of 5th Avenue & 5 min walk to beach. large room, comfy bed, hot shower, good AC.

Quiet at night so that was a plus for 5th ave. The room itself was perfect, maybe the bed needs to be changed but that’s all.

Great location. High ceilings and nice balcony and wall of windows.

We quite enjoyed our stay at SilverSands, the location on 5th ave was great though it was a bit loud during the weekends at night. The room itself was a little dirty but for the price we paid we weren’t expecting a 5 star hotel. We felt safe in this hotel as it has an exterior door at the bottom of the entry stairs. Overall if you’re looking for a budget hotel we do reccomend! We suggest walking down to 30th ave for the best street food and MUCH cheaper prices than an 5th ave :) there’s lots of little taco stands and other food places on 30th and all the streets between 5th and 30th. There is also a Sunday market on I think 54th street!!

Place was nice smelled a little like moldy after u left for a long time and no windows other then that the place was nice clean

I complained about the lights not working properly and they said they would fix them and they did not. The towels were old and had holes. The sheets were very stained and old. The pool had no water in it. I did not have hot water in the kitchen so I could not do my dishes and could not use my cookware( I bought groceries and couldn’t eat them with the conditions) the property was not as described at all. I asked for a refund and to change rooms or anything to make it more comfortable but they said no. The communication was horrible, had to use a translation app to ask questions and they were never replied to in an understandable way. The fridge water machine was also broken. The door locked with a single push lock and felt very unsafe. People would look in my window at night as I could not move the shade down. I did not have my room cleaned the first four days as they never supplied me with a ‘cleaning sign’ so my room was disgusting with the dirty dishes and sand everywhere. Nobody told me I had to run the water in the shower for 10 minutes before it got hot so I had cold showers as well. They did not supply shampoo until the room was finally cleaned. The wifi worked well, but that was about it.

First night air wasn’t working moved us to a different room then fix everything next day great patio over 5th ave room was big

The A/C didn't work, the toilet didn't flush. The bed was uncomfortable, hard pillows. The kitchen was dirty, there was trash in the planters in the balcony. The balcony sliding door was craked, and looked unsafe. Plus it moved with the wind...

Black mold in bathroom. Bed had no blankets just a top sheet. Very disappointed

I have never seen such a HORRIBLE DIRTY HOTEL like this one. No receptionist, just some whatsapp # and had to wait 45 minutes to than be led to a room with dirty sex stained sheets, an ac that leaks over the bed, dirty grimy sliding glass windows with a large crack in in. Fish smelling fridge, fingerprints on coffee pot, was told there was no cleaning crew and the owner to the hotel could care less. The man who let us into the room was just hired 2 days prior. THIS HOTEL SHOULD NOT BE LISTED IN ANY WEBSITE. yes the area was convenient but then again, crack houses are cleaner. You choose.
