I requested a remodeled bath at checkin but said none available. And 1st room toilet did not work so they changed room for us. 2nd room had multiple water stains on ceiling. Bathrooms definitely need remodeled in all the standard units.

This is a very cool property built in the 1920s to look like an "Olde English" Inn. Every room is named for an English author. It's a unique experience and I'm glad we tried it out. I don't usually use hotel pools but this one looked so inviting that I checked it out and was glad I did. The staff was excellent and when our original room had toilet problems we were immediately upgraded to a junior suite with twice the room and a view over the pool, which we really appreciated. The hotel is a bit rough around the edges and could use an upgrade. Also, since it was built 100 years ago, the bathrooms are on the small side. If you are looking for the latest in modern amenities, you might want to look elsewhere. We chose the hotel primarily for its unique look and for its location close to Forest Park, where we visited the art and history museums and the zoo, but found it very convenient overall, since it is right off I-64.

My flight to St. Louis was canceled and I checked in one day late. The hotel charged me for two nights even though this was not my fault. When I called the front desk they were very unhelpful and very rude.

The hotel needs a deep cleaning. You are required to notify them 24 hours in advance to have your room cleaned. We did on Saturday and our room was never cleaned on Sunday. The hallways, elevator and general area floors need to be cleaned. It almost appear as if there is no managerial staff on premise. We have stayed here in the past, but La Meridian here we come. Our son graduated from Washington University in St. Louis and is now residing in the city full time. Thus, we will be visiting often, but not residing at The Cheshire.

This is not a cookie cutter hotel ..... structure is very old but interior is interesting and pretty neat. They need to pay more attention to towel service in gym and pool area. Front desk employees are really nice.

The Cheshire kept well from of old! We felt back in to the ages yet very 21C amenities. The location is perfect to explore St. Louis. We'd like to come back!

Booked for the location and pool, as well as the curiosity of the quirky vibes. The staff were friendly and professional - no complaints there. It's the state of the rooms and shared spaces that are really disappointing. This place has been through it and the wear + tear is on full display. Needs a FULL gut and refresh. Attempts have been done in the bathroom, but it's all a bit janky and leave you feeling dirty. If you are taller than 5'5' good luck with the super low shower head position and light fixtures that protrude from the low ceilings. Lots of broken things, non-functional switches and halfway measures with the fixes. There aren't normal size pillows for some reason and they are folded into squares for some reason, too. So much dust, grime, etc. You can tell it was once something cool and has fallen into disrepair. Hope someone comes in and revives this concept because you see the hauntings of charm it once had.

Unique looking hotel located in a very nice area. Very close to the park. Nice decoration, but the standard rooms are illuminated by mostly white light, which makes things look cheap. No minibar in the standard room. Fan was too noisy, and some of the towels had stains. There is a lot of carpet smell in the room.

It was nice but the room could use some updates and the bathroom set up was not good, had a glass panel on the door , so couldn't leave light on at night. The beds were ok but more like doubles than queens. Kind of felt like I was staying at an older persons house. The breakfast wasn't that great., had quite a few pastries but eggs were cold. The pool was nice and the staff was freindly.Wallpaper was peeling in bathroom and some outlets didn't work.

We always stay at the Cheshire on our cross-country road trips. It's perfect for families and it's pet friendly. We like that it's clean, has character ( the rooms are named after different authors), and has good food options. The breakfast is healthy with fresh fruit options. But most of all, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I left clothing behind on one of our trips recently and they went out of their way to look for it and mail it to me! A special thank you to Roxie!
