Good option for an overnight stay near Exeter

Rooms comfortable and clean. Double bed felt small but even then the quilt only just covered it, but generally the room was good. It was clean and in good condition but was a little chilly. The aircon just seemed to do it's own thing! It was rainjng and much chillier than of late so I set the temperature to the maximum setting but it was still only luke warm and then the aircon started blowing out cold air. No way was the room warm enough for the system to decide it needed cooling down. The bar in the evening was good but suffered from a lack of seating at one point. But you could get served pretty quickly and the drinks are not overpriced. The restaurant in the morning was very busy with not enough seating and the hot food ran out quickly. Having said that, the two or three staff on duty worked hard and did a first class job under very difficult circumstances. Parking was easy and it's very easy to get to from the motorway. There is a pub opposite the hotel which is reasonable for a drink and an excellent pub for dinner within about 15 minutes walk over a foot bridge.

It was very modern and up to date. Easy access to the rooms. The bar area was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. Parking facilities was excellent, and lots of them. Staff were friendly and approachable. A very comfortable stay.

Very convenient for M5 and Taunton itself. Great parking. Hotel was quiet. Good basic food in evening and for breakfast. Buffet breakfast dishes replenished regularly. Room was fine, just a few niggles.....only one tea bag which seemed a bit mean - I am sure I could have requested more from the front desk! Bathroom a little tired but adequate.

Efficient check-in, good room and, accepting that this was an Holiday Inn Express with a limited evening food menu, the food we chose was exactly what we needed after a long tiring day. The only slight complaint was that the selection of fruit supplied at breakfast was very limited. Would we stay here again? Certainly!

Property was great and easy to hail call taxis. Rooms were spacious and the breakfast was generous and tasty. Their staff went above and beyond to accommodate our big group

Weve stayed in other hotels backwards and forwards to Scotland for last 10 year but for this trip to somerset we booked Holiday inn and it knocks spots on all other hotel weve stayed in, cleanliness, good size rooms shower was amazing and throughly enjoyed the breakfasts, will definitely use Holiday inns in future

Stopover in our way to Cornwall, dog friendly, lovely staff (despite them not having a chef they managed to sort us some food) really clean great place to stay

Not enough cups, lack of tea etc

Check in was not as I used, did not feel welcome.

Booked a room for 4 of us but the hotel didn't prepare the sofebed and extra Duvet for the whole family. Generally others OK

Great stay on route to final destination. Ample car parking, great welcome, modern with suitable facilities like a 24 hour reception, vending area and bar. Hotel does bar meals and breakfast is included which was good quality and replenished regularly. Lady in reception, Donna was very friendly. Room location was great on the ground floor and probably the biggest hotel room I’ve stayed in. It had enough space for all of us - often when trying to book a hotel room for more than 2 adults and 2 children is impossible and you always get offered 2 rooms at double the cost so this was a pleasant surprise. Beds were comfy, good facilities and clean. There is a Harvester next door and petrol station, if you want to venture slightly further there is a bowling alley, McDonald’s, miller and Carter, beefeater etc as well as a b&m and sainsburys. Good location and was helpful for us on our way to Devon to break up the journey

Got 3 parking tickets while staying in free parking at hotel, fortunately managed to get the cancelled

fantastic service and Donna at reception was so helpful and accommodating. rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Perfect stay for a wedding.
