Nice place. Welcoming/check in was ok, but not exceptional. No explanation on the wifi (just available in the lobby), the pools, and other services available to us. The room was clean but dated. No AC and no Wifi in the room.

There was nothing special about this place unfortunately. Very old building. My room was a bit smelly, beds were uncomfortable, there isn't much around the area if you don't have a car. And there is no wifi in the rooms.

A very nice place to stay as a base whilst visiting around the beautiful island. Its not far from Funchal by BOLT taxi service and close to airport too, so not difficult to travel to the main centre.

Ideal spot if staying in Madeira for the first time. Easy access to Funchal and the place is really quiet and safe.

There are a few things I liked a lot and a few things I didn’t. Pros-Very walkable,Lots of cafes, restaurants and grocery near by,Indoor pool,View from the balcony, the rooms were very clean,in room microwave and hot plate and I got a pleasant surprise of cake and champagne on my birthday. Con’s- No AC thankfully I visited in the winter,the beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable, No wifi in rooms only in common areas,Walls are paper thin, no elevator no kettle for tea or coffee in rooms With that being said this is a perfect pick if you’re not going to sow and much time indoors. It’s a little dated but it worked for our shot stat

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

No air condition, walls are not soundproffed, good breakfast and cafe.

No in room Wi-fi & no air conditioning either. We had to sleep on the balcony because the room got so hot & humid, we were sweating trying to sleep. If you’re staying during summer, avoid at all costs.

Expedia advertised WiFi and air con in rooms, this is not true. They are only available in reception.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay with my boys and their football team at the tournament in Madeira. The hotel was lovely, breakfast was lovely, views was amazing, the rooms were beautiful and very clean condition. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone.

Clean, comfy , great place

We were left on the street at 4 am because the hotel does not see our reservation.

The location and gardens are amazing. The staff are wonderful. Great brunch! The rooms were very clean. Towels are very old, thin and small. It was incredibly noisy. You can hear every movement through the walls and ceilings and the housekeepers shouting in the hallways at about 8:30 am. There are many large groups that stay and they are up late at night, up to 2 am sometimes, drinking and talking very loudly.

Second time staying here. Lovely hotel in Garajau. Decent breakfast, clean rooms and extremely nice people. Would highly recommend.

Lovely room and lovely hotel, very clean and very quiet. Breakfast was ok apart from the eggs, very strange taste and texture. We also used the pool near reception and I would absolutely stay again. Very friendly staff and lovely facilities!

Convenient for beach (via cablecar) and Christo Rei view. Room was reasonably good, with balcony although view was a bit compromised. On arrival, reception staff were extremely friendly and we were made most welcome. If you are driving, you can park in paid bays right outside -10c will get you 15mins to drop bags, for example - free parking a bit further away. Neptuno restaurant nearby highly recommended for good simple food, very reasonably priced. We stayed one night, which is enough to see the area (and a Gajarau dive) - but good base if you are on a longer diving course. Some other places to see around the island !

The rooms are located in a few different buildings, from the reception and main building we had to walk a bit uphill to our building. There’s no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby in the main building. The hotel is not very modern, the bathrooms could use an upgrade. We only had breakfast at the hotel, it was tasty, but pretty much the same everyday. Location of the hotel is good, close to shops and the bus stop is in front of the building. The closest beach is about 2 kms from the hotel, downhill, hard to reach without a car.

I can highly recommend. The room was in cleanliness - the service was top-notch and I really liked the morning breakfast. If they can start offering wi-fi in the room, then I would give it a full 5-stars. Apart from that, I am very impressed by the service and location provided by the hotel.

located in santa cruz area. 20 euro taxi fare from airport. bus stop across road with buses to funchal for 2.2 euros taking 25 mins. restaurants and mini supermarket across road also. very helpful on reception with booking tours etc. i would return

Very good property. Very large but all is good. Amazing value for Madeira.
