We had a lovely stay for our wedding anniversary. Varenna is a great little town. If you stay for a week definitely plan some day trips to surrounding areas via ferry or boat taxi. The rooms were clean and staff were very accommodating and kind. Willing to help with anything we needed (airport transfer, dinner reservations, spa, boat routes). We had a junior suite with a great view of the lake. There are some beautiful swans that live on the lake and came by the beach at the front of the hotel everyday.

Great hotel for location. VERY FRIENDLY staff

I rarely write reviews, but I had to for my stay here at Hotel Royal Victoria, as it truly went above and beyond all of my expectations. I stayed here for almost a week in July 2025, as my wedding took place down the block, at Villa Monastero. The front desk and concierge were so helpful (Nipa and Marco) during my stay. They took care of all the things I couldn't do, such as providing a shuttle for my wedding, assisting my very handicap father, booking taxis back to Milan, reserving dinners, opening the bar past hours for my guests, and letting me use their steamer for my wedding dress and my husband's tuxedo. Everyone here is so kind and helpful. Breakfast with the view is exceptional as well. If I ever come back to Lake Como, I would absolutely stay here again.

Felt like staff was making fun when I went and asked questions at the counter. Below average service. To be honest thought that people were kind of rude. The guys outside that worked the bar near the pool are the only people that I thought were friendly.

Amazing place to be and relax yourself

This property is beautiful, the view from our room was amazing. Sitting outside for breakfast and dinner and taking in the views was breathtaking. Such a romantic hotel. The rooms are a little tight and we were a bit squished with our large suitcases - this is also a common theme in many of these hotels. The staff were so helpful.

The Royal Victoria is a beautiful property with top notch staff. We especially appreciate the help from the concierge who want to bat for us in navigating our stay in Varenna.

Incredible location. Extremely clean room, toiletries were plentiful with complimentary fridge treats. Bags were brought up for us, and held while we got to car. Overall amazing experience and stay!

The vent in the bathroom was very noisy sounded awful informed the staff and all they did sprayed with WD40 but the noise came back after 5-10 minutes and this was reacted 3 times and finally we gave up

Very nice hotel in Varenna. The staff were super helpful. We were worried that our luggage service may have issues finding the place since it’s along Lake Como but we didn’t have any issues!

Beautiful setting and staff very friendly. We had a room with balcony looking out onto lake. One negative-parking is a problem.
