This is a limited to no service hotel. Reception closed for check-in, which is a first for me. Miniscule shower. Poorly maintained. Antiquated. Noisy. Tiny desk with mismatched chair. Electrical outlets in the wrong places. This should be considered a one-star hotel and priced accordingly. I can offer only two positives about this hotel - hardwood floors and towel heater.

This is a nice hotel, close to train station. The furniture in rooms is not the most modern but it does the job. Staff is very friendly, breakfast had everything you need (except for fresh vegetables).

I didn’t receive an email to explain the process for checking into the hotel after the reception had closed.

A great stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a big room with a king sized bed and a couch. They provided us a baby bed for our little one. The location was perfect, very central and yet quiet. The restaurant was excellent too.

Overall clean room that fits a business traveler needs The bed is a bit too soft for my taste For super hot summer days take in attention the hotel as majority of hotels in town doesn’t have air conditioning

Hotel Alpha has very modern facilities and is situated in a quiet area. It offers free parking and wifi for customers.

The hotel was reasonably close to the train station. The neighborhood getting to it was a little questionable. The room was VERY tight with 3 adults. Because it was so hot, we had to have a fan with the windows open. Too much outside noise most of the night. Did not eat breakfast as too expensive.

Hotel Alpha was an awesome place to spend a night. I was returning to Fribourg after fifty years and needed some help finding my old haunts. The reception clerk couldn’t have been more congenial. She took it as a personal challenge to find what I was looking for. She helped us find a delicious restaurant for dinner and helped us to negotiate the old town’s funicular. My only lower star related to the construction happening in the neighborhood. The hotel was difficult to arrive at. Parking was a bit of a challenge below the house as they say, but doable. Breakfast wasn’t included and really was just ok. All in all a memorable stay.

Staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel is stylish and in a quiet area very close to the station. The rooms are comfortable with lovely decor and I had no issues with any of the facilities.

Friendly service. There was a support pilar in the middle of my room. I don’t mind the room being small but having a support pillar in the middle of the room was not so nice

Hotel Alpha is in an excellent location close to the train station and walking distance to the pedestrian streets which house many restaurants and shops. Rooms are comfortable and very quiet (great soundproofing!). Windows can be opened for fresh air and street noises if it's too quiet! In-room safe, normal bathroom amenities plus a heated towel rack (note: no washcloths, which is typical of many European hotels). Shower floor is incredibly slippery. TV reception is excellent as is choice of channels in a variety of languages. Reception staff is very helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet is quite good. Parking is underground, safe, and convenient. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return to Fribourg, which is a lovely, historic town of many levels!
