If you want to experience authentic Thai hospitality first hand, I would recommend Chiang Mai D Hostel. The owner and his wife were friendly and very accommodating. I was in Chiang Mai for the Lantern Festival, however, on the day I could not get any grab or taxi to take me to meeting point. I was panicking and asked the landlord if they could help. Both husband and wife got panicked as well and tired to book through their apps.. when no taxi or grab taking the order, they asked their neighbor if he could drop me. When that failed, they end up asking their maid to drop me. And they only have 1 maid to cover the hostel and I’m sure she wss busy but they let me take her … I felt like part of family and not just a guest ❤️❤️

The atmosphere is warm and clean with a comfortable working corner. The night is calm, like having actually come to rest.
