Extremely Disappointing Experience. We chose this hotel expecting a world-class experience. What we got was neglect and indifference.
My wife became seriously ill with food poisoning after dining in the hotel’s restaurant on the first night. We ordered a locally caught fish which was grilled just for us. Only we ate this. We lost 3 out of the 5 days, my wife confined to our room not to rest, but unable to leave. The level of hygiene in the outside restaurant was shocking. When our fish dish arrived, the waiter leaned in so close to the plate — face nearly in the food — as he checked for bones. He wasn’t wearing a mask, continually wiped his nose on his sleeve mid-service, and the blue medical gloves he put on as he pulled out the bones had been stuffed in his trouser pocket. This was downright unsanitary. The hotel made no real effort to take responsibility, instead trying to shift the blame to elsewhere. There was no concern shown to my wife, apology made to her or even a question directly to her on departure as to how she was.
Be aware too of the fish farm directly opposite the hotel. The fish slime coats the sea water where you swim in the bay. The hotel try to keep on top of the slime but that’s a hard task and not always do they succeed. Small pool area over in with kids and left messy by those who use it.
