I'd never stayed in the Chow Kit area before, but based on app reviews, I decided to choose the Hilton Garden Inn South initially because it was close to my conference venue. I unexpectedly found a bonus: it's close to the Chow Kit LRT; it's easy to find the Hop-on-Hop-off ticket counter; Bukit Nanas is just a short walk to the Twin Towers.
Starting in the afternoon, there's a traditional market selling a variety of vegetables. I bought the lalapan (vegetables) I'd been missing (because I hadn't eaten them in a long time): petai (stems), jengkol (jengkol), and other vegetables. Then I bought pecel lele (lele pecel) on the street, bought a wrapped nasi padang (Padang rice), and enjoyed durian for dessert. Yummi.
This hotel offers all the access without having to travel far for culinary delights. I'd definitely return with my family and recommend this hotel to friends if I had no other preferences. One more thing: the staff are Indonesian, and they're very pleasant. Thanks, Raphael, for your help.
